After a weekend which saw the best performance of the season I was a wee bit surprised when I logged on to the forum this morning to see that the three topics at the top of the list were about the music played on Saturday, the changes to advertising boards at the ground and the promotion of some `unofficial` merchandise. Meanwhile the highlights from Saturday`s match had attracted only 3 comments!
This is not intended as a criticism of anyone, as all these grievances are genuine concerns, but just an observation in general about football forums which tend to be fairly quiet about onfield matters when things are going well whilst other issues grab the attention of fans. It`s human nature I suppose.

It’s a discussion forum and there were plenty of posts after the match about how well the team played. However discussion regarding team performance only keep going where you have people with opposing views, players to blame etc.

Im still on a high from the game, so those points are minor inconveniences, but i agree the music is annoying. Ill take all the games being like saturday with that music though any day of the week, it will be worth it.
Still salivating over the McCann/Wighton 1-2 and shot off the bar overall. What a moment

To be fair, there are 77 (at time of posting) replies on the match day thread and 11 on Parrots post about us playing at a higher level.
Fans are excited about the future but the posts about the music and advertisement deserve their place as these things will affect the match day experience also. For what it`s worth, the new music is brutal! It has destroyed a perfectly good song and kills any atmosphere in the ground. You can`t hear the fans sing and can barely talk to the person next to you!
Forums do tend to be a quieter place when things are going well. It`s usually a place for people to vent and let out anger when things aren`t going well. It`s the same with people that leave reviews on holiday websites for example. They`re more likely to go in depth about their experience if it`s a bad review.

77? If we had lost the game there would be double that and another 7 new posts slagging individuals, the manager and signings etc etc 😂
Its very evident that people cant wait to throw about online negativity but will not bother with the praise when due…

I tend to think a lot of the negative posts after a defeat are more to do with the posters realising that the opportunity to actually wind up the other supporters and to get a bite out of them is easier than obviously a win would be.
Unfortunately a lot of people do rise to the bait everytime.......

Dave1885, that`s because people get in arguments which ups the post count. With no one arguing, there`s no need for the increase number of posts of members biting back at each other

These posts are almost as tedious as the posts we get when we lose. Of course there will be less posts after a solid win.

What`s the point of having a forum then if all posts are `tedious`? Fortunately not everyone feels that way.

No forum anywhere in the world will be as busy as when there is controversy. I use forums for games, movies football. Every single one of those is far far busier if people aren`t happy. It`s not unique in any way to Dunfermline

I didn`t say it was unique to Dunfermline. In my opening post I said it was a general observation about football forums.
