Was Sounness not criticising players acknowledging eachother in the tunnel before the game?

Keane made a point about this also. Couldn`t believe players were acting like pals before and after games.

I see two men embrace with each other as they have a lot of connection and mutual respect from the past
I see a man who can overcome his own huge disappointment to show humility and candour

Aye, BPP. Some of these fans would have preferred Ten Hag to walk up to Hakim and knee him in the groin. 🙄

It bad that I agree with the fans on this one? 🤔
They had just blown a 2 goal lead and ETHs superstar keeper signing cost them again - he should be furious, not hugging ex players ok the park…football these days is too soft.

It`s not bad to have a different opinion, but it says a lot about those who put all friendship to one side during a sporting confrontation, but then rediscover their friendship as soon as the encounter is over.
There are so many iconic photos of opposing players embracing at the end of a ferociously contested game. Why should coaches/ managers be excluded?

Id say its more to do with the manner of the result (in this case) and then to be shown that your not overly bothered on the outside. By all means embrace in the tunnel/after the game, but the way ETH has done it is poor.
Got to remember, that results has pretty much knocked Utd out of Europe this season…they aren’t exactly flying in the league either. Then you add on his treatment of Sancho, its not a great look.

Ten Hag embraced a former player of his at the end of the game. This suggests he had a good relationship with Ziyach, not that he wasn`t bothered about the result. I can`t imagine any manager who doesn`t care whether his team win or lose a game, especially if his job is on the line.
I think it says much about Ten Hag`s integrity that he was able to put his disappointment to one side and congratulate his opponent. Your objection appears to be on the grounds that he showed his sporting side in full view of United`s fans and it would have been OK for him to embrace the player out of sight. Is that not a bit sneaky?
I switched off at the final whistle, so I didn`t see the gesture. Did any players swap shirts at the end of the game? How did you feel or how would you have felt if they did? Should they wait until they`re up the tunnel, rather than swap shirts on the pitch?

In July 2017, during a pre-season friendly match for Ajax, Ziyech witnessed his best friend Abdelnack Nouri collapse after suffering a cardiac arrhythmia attack, which left him with severe and permanent brain damage and unable to continue his career as a footballer. Ziyech was very badly affected by this and spent much of the following year with Nouris family helping to care for him.Ten Hag said it was one of the most humbling things he’d ever witnessed in football and regularly talks of his admiration for Ziyech. I think the picture shows nothing but the great respect and warmth that exists between the player and his former manager.
