I know it’s a long way off yet, and plenty will happen before then, but IF we make the playoffs which teams would you like to see us up against?
For me, I would like the Wee Team to win the league so Dundee Utd and one other with us - I would take Patrick Thistle.
Bottom team from the Premier league, probably St Johnstone or Livingston, so the other in the playoffs. I would prefer Livingston.
With a full squad, we would give all of those a game.

Makes no odds who we play if we are in a playoff at the top or bottom. Fife teams are rotten in playoffs. I think only Cowdenbeath are successful and that was painfully against us, 1-1 then 0-3. I would not want The Wee Team to win the league, I hope they falter as usual after the Christmas break.

I get the feeling….. dunno why ?That some people take life ( especially fitba’ ) just a little bit too seriously….The whole point of my tongue in cheek post ( sorry don’t do winky emoji’s ) was that IF they have beaten us five on the bounce a play off victory would be all the sweeter….Anyway little chance of us making the playoffs but Raith beating us Five in a row? A distinct possibility unfortunately….

That would be tremendous!
Imagine they finish just behind United and end up about 20 points ahead of us. We continue to be consistently inconsistent but find form at just the right time and smash them in the playoffs. Amazing 🤩

My thought is that we could have an indifferent season until the run in to the play offs. I think the boat of automatic promotion has sailed so we just need to keep in the hunt for the top 4 and focus our long term efforts there.
Falkirk imploded, I expect Rovers could well do the same if there is an in form team come season end.
It’s all conjecture as we just need to win our next game / games.

How far back do you want to rewind to find an instance where that did occur, if indeed it did ?

Update - not a theory of mine, just an observation.
Moving on - season 2020-21 was curtailed to 27 games so should be discounted.
Likewise 2019-20.
Of the other ten seasons that have been completed normally, no team finishing 20 points behind second place has qualified for the promotion playoffs.
So, if the Pars make the promotion playoffs in this scenario it`ll be a first.
We can but hope !!!

Indeed GG - I had/have a few bucket list dreams on the agenda - managed to get to Yankee Stadium - still hoping for the Bernabeu in Madrid, likewise the Ryman in Nashville.
Would happily swap one of them for promotion to the top tier - even sweeter if we could do it at the Rovers` expense !!!

TBH Although I will want us to win if we make the play-offs, I`m uncomfortable that promotion from a league can be dependent on a few games at the end of the season.
I don`t mind a play-off between second-bottom and second-top, that seems fair enough. But a team finishing 3rd or 4th, possibly a long way behind the 2nd team, shouldn`t be promoted, IMO.
And it`s not always good for the 4th team if they get promoted. A few years ago Brechin City finished 4th in League One after losing more matches than they won and with a negative goal difference. They beat Raith and Alloa to be promoted, never won a match in the Championship, suffered 3 relegations and are now struggling to get out of the Highland League.
