 Schools Engagement Programme

The Pars Tackle Health initiative is now 10 years old. This milestone marks its most successful season ever. Since last August;

22 different players have visited

22 local primary schools in

43 different classes and engaged with

*1320 P6 and P7 pupils.

*Total based on all pupils being present on the day.

Allowing for absences, Pars players have been able to meet and speak to over 1200 local schoolchildren, who learn how they can improve and maintain good health by choosing healthier lifestyles. Of course, the players are crucial to these visits. No Martini - no party. 😀

Every single player completely buys into the programmes aims and objectives. They speak confidently about their lives as footballers, answer questions from the kids honestly, participate enthusiastically in the games sessions, pose for photos and sign autographs, long after the end of the school day. Feedback from the kids and their teacher is always very positive.

Just one reason why we love the Pars. 😊

Such a worthwhile project encouraging a healthy lifestyle. Parents could talk all day about the benefits and get no reaction, a few words from football heroes and the message is delivered. Keep up the amazing work.

Cheers, BPP, but it really is all about the players. As oapar correctly states further up, kids are far more likely to listen to advice from a couple of footballers than they are from their parents or teachers. And sadly, quite often, some children have already embarked on unhealthy habits before they even start school. Too many chippies and visits to McDonald`s and countless hours of screen time, leading to not enough sleep and physical exercise. The initiative tries to reverse these trends.

Even if only 1 in 10 kids makes some improvements to his/her lifestyle choices, it`s well worthwhile.

Not your average Sunday League player.
