Congratulations to Pars fans Louise McKay, Noor Sakander and Alcott Ganyani, 3rd year pupils at Dunfermline High School.
Last night their presentation on DADSC won (against very stiff competition) in the final of the High School`s Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI). This is an active citizenship programme run by the Wood Foundation, empowering young people to make a difference in their communities while developing a range of skills.
All five teams in the final were superb, and the judges took ages to reach a decision! The girls were cheered on by Dave Nugent, David Henderson and John Simpson from DADSC.
As a result of the girls` success, DADSC will collect £3000, with the other four finalists` charities each getting £300. This is a very welcome boost to DADSC`s First Floor Access Fund.

Fabulous for the girls. Really difficult to present to large audiences and they obviously put in hours of effort to win such a competition. Well done girls and for a great cause.

As well as to "our own" team, DADSC would like to pay tribute to the other four teams who advocated for their own chosen charities:
Fife Women`s Aid, Walking on Air, Children`s Clothing Bank and Nicola Murray Foundation - all extremely worthwhile causes.
Every team put forward a well researched and passionate argument as to why their chosen charity should win - all 5 teams were superb and they should all be extremely proud of themselves. At a time when young people are getting a bad press, it`s reassuring to know our future is in great hands.
Thanks too to Youth Philanthropy Initative, The Wood Foundation, Dunfermline Rotary Club and to the staff and pupils of Dunfermline High School for the work they all put in and the show they put on.

What’s the fund sitting at now, and what’s the target?
Hopefully almost there? But an update on this is needed so we can get a big final push?
