What are the criteria for eligibility for playing football at the Olympics?
I see two of the backroom staff of the Canada women`s team have been sent home after spying on a training session of NZ, their first opponents, using a drone!

I think it`s under 23 with 3 over aged players allowed. Some of the squads will have been impacted with it being so soon after the Euros and Copa America but good to check out some different players.

Three over aged players allowed yep.
Four world cup winners in the Argentina squad!

Thats a ludicrous amount of games for Julian Alvarez to be involved in this year…..
Is there now too much football?

I think there is. Euros for me was pretty poor partly due to tiredness of players.

Scrap the Nations League and put the Euros back to 16 teams - and don’t fine clubs for withdrawing players from friendlies. Thats what Id do in Europe anyway 🤷🏻♂️
Champions League up to 8 games before the knockouts now as well, then an extra round of knockout games too

Early drama in the Argentina game! Argentina equalised in the 16th minute of injury time when the players had missiles thrown at them. The players were taken off and an hour later it was announced the goal had been chopped off.The players had to come back on-the game kicked off 4 hours ago!

You`re suggestions are logical and sensible, Dave, but there`s no chance of them ever cutting back to where we were before. Extra games means extra money for the bean counters. Who cares about overtired players other than the players themselves and perhaps a few sympathetic fans?
Not your average Sunday League player.

Nations league is infinitely more interesting than friendlies.

Nations league has been the best thing to ever happen to the Scottish National Team and Euros going to 16 would mean we would struggle to qualify ever again.

I was just about to post this. We were by far the worst nation in Germany. If they move it back to before we will never qualify again for god knows how long.
