Great news. Even better that they were on the end of a poor referee decision

I always enjoy opening these Old Firm in Europe threads in the morning, sensing that, in all likelihood, when I scan down, I`ll find that those damn foreigners went and scored a winner late on, triggering outbursts of agony and injustice amongst the "faithful".
Yet again, I am not disappointed.

I don`t think the decision falls into the `shocker` category.
By the letter of the law it can be classed as reckless - there`s no malice, but it`s similar to challenging for a bouncing ball with a high foot and catching your opponent, by challenging for the ball in that way his elbow was always going to be coming into contact with the opponents head and the laws are written to prevent that kind of thing.
Harsh - absolutely. A shocker - not for me.

I don`t think you should be booked for being able to jump higher than the other guy. There were a few Kyiv players going down doing the old slapping the pitch in agony routine, always a sign of faking injury. Wouldn`t be surprised if the pathetic attempt to jump was deliberate so he could go down clutching his face.

He wasn`t booked for his ability to jump high.
He was booked for elbowing his opponent in the head.

When Rangers are on the BBC the `pundits` seem to be exclusively ex-Bluenoses. Last night we had Bell, Thompson, McGregor, Hutton, Dodds and Ferguson. Why not spice it up a bit by including a few ex-Celts or `neutrals`?

Nah - the dislike of anything Sevco related blinkers many.
Whilst I join the ranks of those finding it funny when the hun support rage about a bad decision going against them
- the ‘incident’ wasn’t even a free kick, far less a booking.

Well said, Lux. Probably not even a foul if we`re being honest, but extremely funny all the same. I really can`t feel any empathy for the fans of a club who like to sing the Famine Song among others. You`d think they might have outgrown all that blinkered bigotry by now.
Not your average Sunday League player.

As much as I detest Rangers, these type of referee`s infuriate me. Reminds me of the Scotland Georgia game. The players are at it, the first one didn`t look much of a booking from the 1 view I had but the referee doesn`t adapt, and seems to double down probably costing Rangers the tie.
If Kyiv are going to roll about and slap the pitch over nothing then you should up the threshold of what is a foul. Instead, the cheating team win out.

"Its hilarious watching them moaning that its cost them £40m or more…..forgetting they still had another round to get through, and werent even winning last night 😂"
it did cost them at least £5mil as getting through last night they were guarenteed that in the playoff round.
Ref will get the blame rather than the donkey Dessers who gets the blame for missing sitters every other week.
39,000 attendance for those that "don`t do walking away" when the club need all the backing they can get to make it to the group stage proper to secure the £40mil windfall

Makes a change from them getting all the decisions against small Scottish clubs
Anyway it’s all swings and roundabouts, just that some decisions can appear to have much larger consequences - both for and against you
However, it’s not like they were winning/in control until that point, so nobody knows what would hand happened

I`ll be clear. I don`t think it was a booking. I`m not arguing it should have been a booking. I`m arguing that there`s a plausible explanation as to why the referee gave a booking - which means, in my view, the decision isn`t a `shocker` as some on here are stating.
Clement said something like it`s the worst decision he`s seen in 30 years. It`s nowhere near that territory.
