He should have resigned at the end of last season. It was always going to be another struggle

It`s bloody tough being a legend

Was he `sacked in the morning` or did they leave it until the afternoon?

Saints are a strange one - they don’t really invest the money to compete higher than 10th, as they keep their books and house in order, but then expect to be performing better than a relegation battling team 🤔 yes they done the miracle
Cup double under Davidson, but that was exactly that - a miracle…..

I feel a bit sorry for Craig. He is a fellow Dunfermline man. I noticed him at one of our home games a few years ago. But his managerial career has been somewhat hit and miss. Maybe time for a spell of early retirement?

Born in Dunfermline Rigger Al, just like I was. But maybe he didn`t follow that up by supporting the Pars. Maybe he didn`t live in Dunfermline since the maternity hospital served the nearby towns and villages too but his passport, like mine, will give his place of birth as Dunfermline.

So what is it ?

Is he a Cowden, Hearts or Rovers fan ?

Did he live in Dalgety Bay or Aberdour as a kid ?

Is he a `Dunfermline man` ?

I`m confused . . . .

No idea where he was brought up but he did live in Crossford during his Hearts playing career.

My grandfather was a Hearts supporter and regularly spoke to Levein when collecting me from the primary school.

I knew Craig at Inverkeithing High, and can confirm that he lived in Aberdour and supported Raith.

He grew up as a Rovers fan and signed for Cowdenbeath from Lochore.

I noticed earlier that his win percentage for Scotland was 41.67%-identical to Steve Clarke.

SJ fans being asked on BBC Sport who they would like to succeed Levein. Tommy Wright, Barry Robson, Derek McInnes, David Marshall (?), Neil Lennon, John Carver, Alex Neil, Ian Murray all get mentions - and Dave Mackay!

They are seriously delusional about who they think they can attract as a manager.

Unless these new owners are going to throw big money about, they will be fighting to stay in this division again this season, and will land someone no better than that.

From BBC Sport -

Larne boss Tiernan Lynch has rejected the chance to take over the vacant managerial position at Scottish Premiership club St Johnstone. Lynch, who took over as Larne manager in 2017 and has won back-to-back Irish Premiership titles, had been the subject of an approach from the Saints last week.

The Perth club have been without a manager since the dismissal of Craig Levein earlier this month after a run of four straight defeats. That prompted speculation that Friday night`s 3-1 win over Cliftonville could be former Glentoran assistant manager Lynch`s last game in charge of the Inver outfit.

It was reported that owner Adam Webb had identified Lynch as his prime target and that it was down to the club to agree a financial package with the 44-year-old. However, he will now remain at Inver Park and oversee preparations for their Uefa Conference League trip to Molde on Thursday, after guiding the club into the league phase of the competition. In doing so, Larne became the first club from Northern Ireland to qualify for the group or league phase of a major European competition.
