I think the question is whether the pitch will survive the weather or whether the weather for travelling through will be advisable to drive in. I am avoiding the M8 and trying to keep to the low ground and my hope is that Eaglesham moor M77 will be clear closer to kick off.

It’s heavy snow, sleet and strong winds here in toon. Looking at the weather reports for Ayrshire it’s more or less the same. I’d stay put fellow Pars fans.

Unpleasant conditions, the weather warning is for north of the central belt, so should be ok travelling to Ayr.

Greenock looks fairly bad. M74 has been shut due to an accident, M77 looks pretty white as well. Probably wont start melting at the best till midday by which time flooding will then become the next issue 😃 surely game will be off as unsafe for team to travel?

Issue with travelling down the M77 is having to endure the road closures on the M8 through Glasgow.

Come off at Junction 8 and go the M74, theres no works on there at the minute and avoids the city centre 👍🏻

That`s very commendable from the club, although perhaps not a view shared by the bean counters at Ayr. The SPFL also has a duty of care and perhaps the correct thing to do was for it to postpone all today`s games in the interests of safety to fans and players.
I can`t understand why clubs make every effort to put games on no matter how bad the weather is. How much fun can it be to watch and play football in such terrible conditions?

Absolutely bang on - good message from the club but anyone travelling would be well on the way long before it was sent out. I looked at the traffic cameras for Eaglesham and Fenwick Moor earlier and heard about the chaos on the M8 and decided some time ago not to risk it.
For the sake of those who did travel I hope it doesn’t get called off now - and my god those fans deserve the 3 points.

The number of call offs with teams and supporters already travelling is frankly ridiculous when this weather was clearly forecast. I’ve just seen a picture of the Stenhousemuir bus stranded in snow on the way to Cove and it must be treacherous for Inverness travelling to Dumfries knowing that it would probably be cancelled before they got there.

Inverness travelled yesterday as they knew this was forecast, same with Motherwell going up to Dingwall.

Today’s kick off will have a short delay given the challenges Dunfermline have had in getting to Ayrshire.
We will communicate an exact time once we have confirmation from the SPFL.
The pitch conditions and weather conditions in Ayr are perfect for the game.

Struggling to think how trying to play games in this weather can be justified, especially where the away side has a significant distance to travel and road conditions are clearly an issue.
The emergency services have more than enough potential problems to contend with before unnecessary journeys come into the scenario.
