Looks like it`s a couple of trips to Perth next season. Another loss today and surprise win from Hearts leaving them marooned (wayhey!) at the bottom.

About time they came down. Poor football, poor crowds and a poor pitch.
Other than than one amazing cup winning season, they have provided little to the SPL

16 years in the top flight is some going for them. Looks like it`ll be coming to an end unless something miraculous happens.
Unlike Livi, I expect them to bounce straight back tbh. Falkirk haven`t won anything yet but you just can`t see anyone else genuinely troubling them IMO.

This is my view exactly. They’ve punched above their weight at times, but have stunk the place out over the last few seasons.
The ironic thing is, I actually think SV will be a good appointment for them, he just wants to play in a certain way and doesn’t have the players to play it.

Still some way to go in the season, but St Johnstone don`t seem to have it in them to close the gap.
However, with St Mirren losing and victories for Hearts and Ross County, positions 6-11 in the league have closed right up, with 4 points covering 6 teams.
Any of the potential Club 11 teams would IMO be strong favourites to survive in the play-offs.

You`ve got to take your hat off to Ross County. They`ve taken 10 points from their last 4 games, including away wins at Dundee, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.

A helluva better record over the same recent timescale than DAFC.
Pars fans would bite your hand off for a major trophy etc.

What has gone wrong at Aberdeen wee eck ? .. they were on a great unbeaten run I don`t think they have won a game in the last 10 ..

I`m sure any pars fan would be delighted with the success St Johnstone have had.
The credit they receive however should include the caveat** that they have been massively bankrolled by Geoff Brown, an extremely wealthy business man, willing to throw money at the club.
There was a list I remember seeing in `4-4-2` magazine years ago that had him listed in the `top 10 wealthiest owners` anywhere in the UK.
**the same could be levelled at us had we won the cup in 2004.
Brown sold his stake last year after 40 years and his son resigned as chairman, so St.J may not have the financial support they once did. I wouldn`t be surprised to see them returning to dipping in and out of the top division now.
Ross County would likely experience an even bigger drop should Roy MacGregors millions disappear.

Aye, the `new manager bounce` has gone flat, Bpp. Everybody thought Thelin was some kind of genius but he`s just like the majority - up and down.

I don`t think the above statement is strictly true, Geoff Brown pretty much ran St Johnstone along the lines of they spent what they brought in.
I`m sure he complained about teams spending above their means to get out 1st division ,while Saints were stuck there, at least 2 of said teams went into administration.

Wasn`t the major catalyst of St Johnstone`s success the sale of Muirton Park and the move to the purpose-built McDiarmid Park which benefited from the donation of land by a local farmer of that name? I think Geoff Brown negotiated these deals and the club prospered thereafter.

"I don`t think the above statement is strictly true, Geoff Brown pretty much ran St Johnstone along the lines of they spent what they brought in."
That was the case - he was an astute businessman who instictively knew that a club like St.Johnstone had to live within its means.
The new stadium deal, with all its linked money raising facilities, as Wee Eck says, was a major step forward as Muirton Park was well past its use by date.
The fact that the club has steered clear of administration, unlike a host of others (including us) and staying in the top tier for so long with a couple of national trophies as added bonus says it all.

Brown paid for that stadium and all the land around it. Although he may ha e run the club astutely, imagine the savings if the Pars we`re gifted a new stadium in a prime location to run events.

Can`t deny that Geoff Brown did anything other than a great job. He ran the club very prudently, never seemed to ever run into any financial problems like so many other clubs of our size, cut their cloth according. They have managed to stay in that top league for a good run, compared even to bigger clubs like Dundee, Dundee United, Hearts, Kilmarnock and Hibs. No boom and bust for them. They also picked their managers brilliantly, ensuring continuity, Coyle, McInnes, Wright, the 2 cup wins in a season being the icing on the cake. All provincial clubs should aspire to be as well run
