From what I pick up from the phone ins , Everton are an absolutely dire watch according to their own fans. I’d have thought though that all that matters at the moment is that they stay up, ensuring that they kick off next season, in their shiny new stadium, as a premier league team. For that reason alone I’m surprised at the sacking.

Evertonian came out with a great line. Watching them under Dyche is like doing community service. 😂😂

Better than McPake - 5 clean sheets in 6 games.....

Not your average Sunday League player.

They`ve got new owners who will want their own man in. Bit like us really. Sacked before the replacement is ready to announce.

Not sure about that. Moyes is 1/5 which would make you think it’s done and dusted. Mourinho is next in the betting at 6/1.

Reported in the North West that they want a manager thats currently unemployed to avoid having to pay compensation, which may rule out Jose.

The Section North West? Not sure Jose would fancy coming here anyway. He does have links to a Pars fan though

My (ahem) extensive research found the following about Jose and the Pars:

There is no direct connection between José Mourinho and Dunfermline Athletic Football Club. Mourinho, a renowned Portuguese football manager, has managed several top European clubs, including Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and currently Fenerbahçe.

Dunfermline Athletic, based in Dunfermline, Scotland, has not had any managerial or player associations with Mourinho. However, there have been instances where players with connections to Mourinho’s teams have been linked to Dunfermline. For example, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, a young defender from Tottenham Hotspur, joined Dunfermline Athletic on loan. During his time at Tottenham, Fagan-Walcott was under the management of José Mourinho, who handed him his debut for the club.

While this represents an indirect link through player development and loan arrangements, there is no direct professional relationship between José Mourinho and Dunfermline Athletic FC.

Does anyone here honestly think that the "not so special one" would be interested by the Everton job ?

He did talk about potentially moving back to a club in England but wanted to join a team not in Europe!

Was Dick Campbell not on the SFA coaching staff when Jose attended Largs?

Not sure but Tommy Wilson was, so there is some Pars connection.

Yes, the very tenuous link to The Pars I was thinking of was when Jose attended Largs, he was on the course with a young Pars fan. The rest of the people on the course were Scottish professional footballers who were either in the twilight of their playing careers or recently retired, and were a bit cliquey with the two that had no playing pedigree, and so they found themselves buddying up on a lot of the sessions. Former Pars fullback, Tommy Wilson, was one of the trainers on the course as far as I remember.
Their respective careers took varying paths, Jose won pretty much everything there is to win, while his course buddy found his way to America and did some coaching there. He did recommend a young kid called Kei Kamara to The Pars though, who went on to have a fairly decent career, still playing for Los Angeles in the MLS at 40, being the second top scorer in MLS history
