Past match sponsors have often given us a wee chuckle or had us shaking our heads in disbelief, but not today.
Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen was a standout. The boy is class. Absolutely strolled it and even found time to to get forward on several occasions to try and get us on the scoresheet.
I`m not sure whether he`s our player or not. I`ve read that we`ve paid a fee for him, but also that he`s here until the end of the season. Does that mean he`s still a Leeds player and we paid a fee to loan him?
Would love to see him signed up on a long term deal if at all possible.

Oakley was a complete standout in the first half. One of the best debut 45 mins we’ve seen in many a year. Sadly drifted out of it a bit in the second half and agree Mullen was a worthy MOTM

Between Mullen and Stevens for me. Ngwenya did okay too and Hamilton did okay given he’s not a right back.
If Oakley got a more involved and made more angles for a pass he’d have got it easily, good first 30mins today then disappeared. Once fit he’ll be very good at this level, clearly played well within himself.

Mullen is total class. He’s composed and not easily knocked off the ball going forward.
We should be going flat out to keep him for next season.
It’s also clear he makes Bene’s job much easier.

Probably the easiest MoM decision ever (well since Istvan`s hat-trick anyway 😉). It would be a major achievement to get Mullen contracted for next season. But I don`t see him performing in League 1!!!
On another day, I might have gone for Tobi
Oakley would have had a look-in if it was based on a cameo 20 minutes in the first half.

We have an option on him, so we will have first dibs - if someone offers him a deal, all we have to do is trigger clause and he’s got a new deal. Only break in that clause may be that if we go down, he can leave for free.

First time I`ve seen Oakley and I thought he looked like he had come from a far far higher level but sadly he dropped off after about the first half an hour. I think he maybe got clattered and was hardly in the game after that. I actually forgot he was on the pitch in the second half.
Mullin was excellent again. He`s rarely beaten on the ground and carries the ball forward really well. It made me chuckle a bit when the MOTM announcement came over the tannoy and he immediately made a mistake, one of few today - commentators curse! 😂

I would agree blacklight, plenty of instances where the individual didn’t pass and went on themselves which will need to change big time if we want be more effective going forward. Need to see more heads up looking for options when in possession and that wasn’t just from the new players.

I`d be surprised if anyone would argue with the sponsor`s choice of Chris Kane yesterday, but Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen put in another assured performance yesterday, even without Bene`s guidance when our skipper was red carded.
As I understand it, JCM is our player until the end of the season. We paid Leeds a fee for him, and we have first dibs if we want to extend his contract. I`ve seen enough to suggest we should be offering him a new deal NOW! I wouldn`t be at all surprised if other clubs are watching him and liking what they see. If we wait until the end of the season, JCM`s agent could be sitting with a pile of offers from other clubs, which we might not be able to match, so he leaves and we get nothing.
If we extend his deal now and he wants to go to a bigger club, we`ll at least get a nice fat fee. 🙂

He has been outstanding so it was a high bar I was judging him by. I didn`t think he was as dominant in the air and misplaced a few passes yesterday. He also sclaffed a clearance for a corner when we were under the cosh towards the end I think. He may have to take charge of the defence next weekend if Bene is suspended and he may revel in that.

Yeah, I`m assuming (hoping) it`s an extension the club can automatically trigger as long as we stay up. Given we gave Young and Bray long term deals, I`d imagine that a 3 year (or even longer) deal will be there as long as we avoid relegation.

Saw bray scored, been one of ICT best players and they have had a good season considering admin etc. one to watch for next season for sure.
Tobi had a good game yesterday, at least 3-4 good saves and unlucky with the goal conceded as the ball in was quality.
Do wonder if we can’t commit on Mullen until we know which league we’ll be playing in. Strange to pay a fee we for someone for 5 months and if we have first dibs it’s at what wage as other could offer substantially more. Hopefully it’s the type of thing where we sign him up and immediately sell him but I’m sure his agent wouldn’t have signed up to that as he’d get more of a fee if he’s a free agent.

We didn`t pay a fee for JCM, Leeds attached a reportedly decent sell-on clause. But he`s technically our player with a club option to extend which has presumably been pre-determined should we stay up.

JCM isn’t on loan. Was announced as a short term contract, with an option to extend. Cant see any reference to a loan deal on the club website and Leeds’ announcement specifically mentions it is a permanent deal, rather than a loan.
Anyway, Kane man of the match. We didn’t look like we had any chance of even getting level until he came on.

Hoping to make his mark in Scottish football, Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen stepped onto the East End Park pitch on Wednesday night for his Dunfermline Athletic debut. Just 48 hours earlier, he had been finalising his loan move from Leeds United, and now here he was, facing Livingston in the SPFL Trust Trophy semi-final.6 Feb 2025
