Running the cable is easy its cutting the track and repairing the wall that's tricky. Not sure but try this guy. He might do it.

Yea I would also recommend powerline type adapters. Been using them for years.

Another vote for powerlines. I've got one in our back room which is a WiFi black hole, and I get the same speeds on a machine down there as if I was plugged directly into the router.

I got this one:

You can also run exterior cable. Hard bit is fitting the ethernet plugs as it's a smaller hole without plugs.

I also used phone cable and fitted adaptors that were originally used by sky. It was a long run in my house and round doors and walls, so phone cable was more flexible. I've had no problems though I'm not gaming but streaming video works fine.

Yip same as sin, run it externally. Powerline adaptors if it's only for general WiFi boosting. Gaming/ streaming cable all the way.

I've gone for powerlines. My mate has a hub in the loft and cables run to all rooms. Too much for what I need.

If you're getting powerlines I'd recommend the 1200Mb/s ones if you're streaming telly.

Powerline vote from me also. Easy to install and reliable most of the time for connections.

Whats the main reason for putting it in Westie?

As mentioned above , if it's just for general connectivity to allow the kids onto their phones, ipads or to get laptops/pc/smart tv online then powerlines adapter are the way to go.

If they are going to be hammering xbox one, ps4 online etc then it can be a little bit suspect at times.

If i were you i'd go for a powerline adapter with a secondary 'slave' router at the other end and see hoe that goes?

If you do go down the cabled route, runming the cabling itself is a doddle. It's re-crimping the RJ45 connectors that is a complete bottom of a job unless you have wee Jeremy Beadle hands ;-)

Gaming buddy, he's forever moaning about "lag" and to be fair wifi can be a bit hit and miss in the house despite having the smart hub.

I have my PS4 cabled in to a power-line adaptor and it's fine.

We got this one; http://amzn.eu/d/6Fjzzke

Has built in WiFi as well if you struggle for a signal.

The plug socket is also handy so you aren't losing a socket to the adapter.

Power adapters are fine providing you have good wiring in your property
