Definitely a cause for concern, just now at Gatwick and and the future everywhere. What happens when terrorists are able to start using them to deploy bombs?

Ask the government, they'll be the ones that try it first.

Indeed, Rastapari. Drones are good when they kill people who we do not like. Bad when they disrupt air flights, seems to be the official line.

There is a False Flag narrative hanging around all this for me. Why has no other airport had this problem across Europe?

It seems that Gatwick has been closed again on Friday evening, although this has not been reported by all UK media.

We are hearing police talk abut 'lines of enquiry' which is a usually code for not having a clue. There is also a description pf the events as being 'dynamic' and 'unprecedented' which means pretty much the same.

There are people like Tommy Robinson and possibly Rees-Mogg who want the army on the streets. I hope the UK public are alert to this danger.

It was on the news tonight mate that Gatwick had closed again and right at the end of the program they said one media outlet had said it had reopened but that report was unconfirmed.

Appears it's open again.

Having the Military deployed at Gatwick hasn't made much difference then. Seems they are only good for turning up mob handed as unwelcome guests in far off lands terrorising the locals and bombing poor, brown kids

"Having the Military deployed at Gatwick hasn't made much difference then"

Looks like it may have, two collared late last night.

I wonder if the police will release names - there's a lot of angry punters out there.

Nice one LA.

I certainly would not like to be either of them, or a relative, once their identities are in the public domain.

Irreparable damage done to those two. Names, photos, and location were widely shared as soon as they were arrested. Now, 24hrs later. Released without charge. The Police are desperate to get a result, they have ballsed this up from the start.

Apparently there's nothing in a drone which enables it to be tracked like, say, an aeroplane. Can anyone confirm this?

No I wouldn't imagine they would. I think planes have something called a transponder but even they can be switched off.
I don't find it hard to believe that these drones weren't followed back to their origin. Often when I see these things flying about as soon as I take my eye off them I cant ever find it again even though I can still hear them.

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Something the size of a drone is probably too small to show up on radar and all planes have transponders.
Somethings not right here....
I've read that in various countries (including the UK) drones can have their signals jammed if they are used in no fly zones.
So what's the difference here?
Has someone come up with a drone that can't have its signal jammed?
Is the jamming tech flawed?
Or... Is this whole story just an elaborate ruse?... Ye never know eh!!!
This whole thing seems very strange šŸ¤”

Totally agree. The papers should be ashamed of themselves printing people's details in those circumstances. Imagine how it feels having your picture and details plastered in the news alongside some weasel words vetted by a lawyer to keep them in the clear. Disgusting.

If those newspapers never went into overdrive to get their names and then splash them over their front pages saying they were guilty then possibly some small compensation from Police for wrongful arrest.

Massive compensation from the idiotic papers though,as released and exonerated.Notice they are already needing medical treatment, probably as the lawyer advised,to get over this.Bumps the payout for them.

And actually good on them as the media should pay for jumping the gun.

Depends entirely on what the papers reported.

Were they formally arrested, or assisting with enquiries ?

That would be ironical, seeing us these types of drones are basically pilotless choppers !!!

The military ones like the Reaper are mostly fixed wing unmanned aircraft.
