 Power Tool battery re-cell
Topic Originator: DBS

I have a couple of McAllister tools , drill & 1/2" drive impact gun (B&Q own brand) In my opinion they are just as good and reliable as the major brands. Their only weak spot is getting spares, specifically replacement Li-ion battery packs. I know it is possible to recell them, even by yourself, but I don't really want the hassle. Does anyone know any company relatively local that does it . Definitely a cheaper option than replacing the tools with Dewalt or Milwaukee, etc.

Could be worth scouting about the internet to find out who made the model you had. All these own brand products tend to be made by the same companies. Look for the model number and Google it.

I thought Screwfix sell that brand, worth a look?

They're a B&Q subsidiary.

Been in Edinburgh this afternoon and spied a shop called Battery World down Ferry Rd. Looks like it does these sort of repairs.
