 Covid - a first-hand account

There's a British guy I have been following on YouTube for the past couple of years who travels around the world visiting the less known places. He's hugely amusing and entertaining and his vids are always worth viewing.

However, he's also a bit careless and thinks nothing of getting up close with strangers. This has got him into troublesome situations in the past. He's been missing for a few weeks leaving many of us - he has 2 million subscribers - to wonder if he was okay.

Fortunately, he turned up online today.

But it was not all good news. He had caught Covid-19 in Serbia and has been in a very bad way. This fit and healthy, relatively young man, looks a shadow of his previous self.

In this short video, he describes what happened when he got it, how he was treated in Serbia, what went on around him in the hospital, and how it may take a very long time for him to recover, perhaps never fully.

It really is worth watching; especially if you like to get out and socialise and are 40 or younger. The truth is, no matter our age, we all have to be ever so careful.

Been watching Ben for a good while now, really enjoy his videos, was a shock to watch this one last night, not unsurprising he caught it though, first place he went to when it really kicked off was Belarus and as you mention he's not the most safety conscious off people, also if the rumours are to be believed, he's a sex tourist off camera, which is a surefire way off catching anything!

That being said his videos are entertaining and he has the banter and charm, I reckon it'll be at least 6 months, if ever, before he's back to his old tricks.

Edit.

Also to point out, there's a chance he caught it in Belarus, hopefully he didn't pass it on to those old folk who live in the radiation zone or he might be in for a terrible shock the next time he visits!

Big fan of B&B too!

Love the stuff he gets upto in general but when he was cutting about Belarus at the height of the pandemic I did feel a bit uneasy about it. Came across as a little selfish and not taking it at all seriously.

Came back to bite him in a serious way it seems. He's admits it though saying "I was a dick". Quite a road back to full strength.

I reckon his bankruptcy only stretches to within our shores, 2 million subs on YouTube will generate a fairly juicy income, more than likely paid straight into a Russian bank account, maybe explains his friendship with his travel companion from Belarus, certainly doesn't seem to be any type of personal relationship there, could also explain his reluctance to ever come back to Britain.
