Dunfermline got a confidence boosting win in the usual tricky conditions at Arbroath. Ryan Thomson took advantage of a goalkeeping error to give the Pars an early lead, once which they maintained to the break. Travis equalised from a corner, but skipper Andy Geggan popped up to convert a Grainger cross with 11 minutes left, and the Pars held out for the win.

After a dismal draw last weekend DAFC will be hoping for goals galore today at Ayr. There`s a big fight on for the third place spot but the Pars, safe in second place, will want to get all three points.

Dunfermline finally guaranteed their second place finish and hence a home-tie in the second leg of the play-off semi-final after a goalless game of few chances. Forfar had played 110 games without a 0-0, but this match never really looked like extending that record.

Dunfermline rarely threatened on the artificial surface at New Broomfield. After Keigan Parker expertly curled home a free-kick midway through the first half, the Pars had the bulk of possession but could do little with it. A last minute defensive mix-up saw Lister add a second to cap a poor Pars performance.
