Arrival in Rejkyavik
Author: Brian Duncan Date: Thursday, 12th Aug 2004Edinburgh on a damp and unexciting day. Arrive at the airport and find that we are going to be late, but eventually only 75 minutes getting away.
But, we also land at Reykyavik thus missing out on a 30 minute drive from Keflavik airport (reykyavik is minutes from the city centre)
Amazingly we land with temperatures of 24 deg C, very warm, remind me why I packed my warm woolies ??
After checking in at the excellent Cabin Hotel, rooms not very large, but clean and good condition. Heading of too town for a glass or two of lemondae we are met by quite a few Pars fans enjoying the summer weather. Remind me again, did we fly North or South ??
Excellent walk around this town and head back to see the Icleandic National Stadium. Pars have not been in to train but were due at 8pm this evening.
Excellent evening in the town, rounded off by John Yorkston, Jim Leishmand and a couple of directors trunin up at the Dublinners pub.
Better go now and sample the nightspots in Rekjavik.
