Stirling Albion Post Match Interviews

Highlights from interviews given by Danny Murphy, Stephen Simmons, Scott Morrison and Jim McIntyre after the game against Stirling Albion at EEP.

Danny Murphy
Danny cant really explain why the side have started to pick up points from teams they previously struggled against but believes that they always looked as if they were going to give one team a hiding. He hopes that McIntyre is given the managers job as he describes him as a very nice person who has the players buzzing and enjoying training. Although the teams league position is improving, Danny insists that the players aren`t looking at the other clubs but taking each game as it comes in a bid to claw back some ground. The loan deal from Motherwell ends on January 7th but Danny hopes that it can be sorted so he can stay longer and play first teams football.

Stephen Simmons
Stephen talks of how the people who have been on the teams back during the awful spell of results have helped spur the players on and make each player fight harder to win games.He too believes that McIntyre should be in pole position to take the managers position due to the good run of results and he also explains how hard it is for the caretaker to stamp his authority on the squad when he too could end up as a player again. Stephen talks through his goal and is very happy to have scored as it has been a while since his last one but is adamant that it was no easy game as Stirling are a good side who battled hard.

Scott Morrison
Scott has been frustrated at his lack of football due to injury but feels fresh and ready to try and make more starts for the club. He admits that the teams performance hasn`t been great in recent weeks but is glad to have the points and hopes that the performances pick up in time. The Livingston game is next and Scott is hopeful that the team can go and record a win, regardless of the previous result with the same team being a 4-0 defeat, which he describes as a freak game. The clubs league position doesn`t excite Morrison who is still unhappy that they were ever in such a lowly standing but it seems as if the corner may have been turned and the players can gain some pride back by continuing to pick up wins.

Jim McIntyre
Jim describes the result as an excellent 3 points and is happy with his teams fight and will to win overall. The obvious question of his position at the club is still very much unanswered but Jim is ready to take on the role if asked and has always seen himself as progressing into management at some point in his career. Credit is given to Stirling who Jim believes deserved more than they got but at the same time explains that football is cruel like that with Dunfermline not playing particularly well. Jim praises the players for supporting him and making his caretaker job alot easier by being a joy to work with.
