Justin Skinner Interview
Author: Brian Duncan Date: Saturday, 25th May 2002I managed to get a few minutes to talk to Justin after the Rangers game.
DAFC.net managed to talk to Justin immediately after the Rangers game at East End Park. We were able to talk to Justin as we sponsored him this season.
Brian: Justin, its good to get a chance to talk to you. You have received a lot of support from the fans on the web site.
Justin: No problem, the players and mangement appreciate the support from the fans.
Brian: Have you an idea where you will be playing next year ?
Justin: Nothing has been finalised yet, I'd like to stay in Scotland, I'm settled with my family in Edinburgh, but if I have to move then I will.
Brian: Who was your boyhood footballing heroes?
Justin: Kevin Keegan and Glen Hoddle
Brian: what was your best Pars memory?
Justin: I've thoroughly enjoyed all of my three years here, promotion, staying in SPL and getting into the Top 6 this year were all good. Its really all been good and I have plenty of memories.
Brian: Which young player has impressed you most at Dunfermline?
Justin: All the young players are good at Dunfermline. Kevin McLeish had an excellent game today. Chris McGroarty shows how the situation is at Dunfermline with the talented young players.
Brian: Are you bitter about not getting your contract extended ?
Justin: No, its the managers decision and I respect that fully. I still have a lot to offer, but with the situation at the moment I'll have to wait and see what comes up.
Brian: Justin, thanks again for your time. The fans have certainly appreciated your efforts this season. Since you were told that you would not be getting your contract renewed you have continued to play your part both on and off the field. It was good to see you at the Open Day, especially knowing that you would not be here next season, its not every player that would do that. The fans particularly appreciated that gesture.
Justin: Thanks, and I'd like to thank the fans for their continued support. In appreciation I'd like to offer you the Number 4 shirts that I have worn this season. It is certainly very good of you to donate one of them to the Young Pars.
(I'll still attempt to contact Ian Ferguson who is not due to leave until July)
