Cup Joy For 25 Local Kids As The Pars Hand Out Tickets
Date: Friday, 16th Jan 2026The 2025/26 Scottish Championship campaign is turning into a mixed one for Dunfermline Athletic and manager Neil Lennon, but optimism abounds that the season could go from strength to strength in the second half of the current calendar.
The Pars find themselves in 5th place in the second tier and have picked up seven wins and five draws from the first 20 games of the season and we are also in second spot in Group E of the League Cup, so with a touch more consistency in results this could turn out to be a pretty good year far surpassing last years finish.
With the New Year with us and all eyes on the January transfer window and the second half of the campaign, many fans who enjoy a flutter will be hoping for improved match day odds whilst others will enjoy a binance casino experience as they game online, but everyone will be hoping that they are a big winner when we face Hibernian in the cup. On the cup front, a few club members recently enjoyed a change from the norm as a handful of first team stars enjoyed themselves by making a surprise visit to St Leonard`s Primary School. They attended the extra time after school programme in Dunfermline and came with seat tickets in hand for our upcoming Scottish Gas Scottish Cup fourth round clash with Premiership side Hibernian.
The trip was designed to reward 25 pupils in the local community for their educational efforts and give them the opportunity to experience one of Scotland`s most iconic football competitions at the KDM Group East End Park for free. The visit on Wednesday morning where the tickets were obviously delivered in person, was supported by the title sponsor - Scottish Gas - and their representatives were joined by current top scorer Andy Tod, his sibling John Tod and Ewan McLeod.
As fans will know, the clash takes place at the KDM on Saturday, January 17th, and it will kick off at 12.30pm with the game being screened live on BBC Scotland. For those in attendance, Scottish Gas will be outside of the ground during the build up to kick off and they will be handing out free ponchos and hand warmers to supporters and that is likely to be well received as fans cheer on the team in the wintery conditions and look to stay warm and dry.
Dunfermline Athletic will be hoping that these 25 kids are future fervent supporters of the side, and it is bound to be an experience for those who have not yet tasted the live experience of a football game with the fans in full slow. All we have to hope for now is a solid performance against our higher division opponents, and whilst they will undoubtedly be the favourites for the tie, the magic of the cup always leaves room open for an upset.
We just have to hope we get one.
