Dunfermline to move to English League 2

Date: Sunday, 1st Apr 2012

Breaking news this morning that Dunfermline at the end of the season will move to English League Div 2, regardless of whether they would stay in the SPL or not.

John Yorkston this morning has stated that he is in the process for applying to the English League.

He states that he has had enough of Scottish Football and in the way the league is run. It`s ok for Lawwell to say that the SPL should become a 14 team league, but that will never happen. If its good enough for Celtic or Rangers to consider such a move then its good enough for us to consider it as well.

Talks have been ongoing and its expected that official news will come from East End Park during the morning.

We couldn`t talk about why we took on Jim Jefferies before but the main reason that he has experience of managing an english team (Bradford) in the Premier league. Bradford are currently in this league and so Jefferies would be in a position to compete with these clubs. One day we can aspire to rejoing that league (EPL) with Jefferies vast experience.

As soon as we have any more on this breaking news we will let you know.......

News filtered through at lunchtime that dunfermline`s bid was rejected. However should a Scottish team be accepted then Dunfermline would get the chance at a later date.
