Georgi Hristov keen on Pars deal.

Pars boss Davie Hay is quietly confident that Macedonian striker Georgi Hristov would accept an offer from the club, although he has yet to speak to the players agent.

The former Barnsley and NEC Nijmegen player was released by FC Zwolle in the summer and was sidelined last year because of a knee injury (cruciate ligament). He is currently without a work permit which would have to be granted from the Home Office. This should pose no problem as he is considered a regular international player for Macedonia (no, not in Glenrothes), scoring 17 goals for his nation.

Davie Hay told today`s Courier, “What we have to decide on is the possibility of applying for a work permit, but we knew about that before.


“You can see he’s a decent enough player but he’s been out for a while.


“However, his match fitness isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, considering he was out so long.


“He has been training with a team in Macedonia and you can see his general fitness is OK.


“There are two things really. His work permit would take a couple of weeks to sort out and his sharpness would take a few weeks anyway.


“We’d have to take that into account before making a decision, knowing that we’d like someone in immediately.”
