Dunfermline Athletic recently celebrated its 126th year of existence, having been formed at a meeting in The Old Inn back in 1885.

The 2nd June 1885 saw a meeting take place within the walls of The Old Inn, when the footballing members of the Dunfermline Cricket Club decided to breakaway and form their own organisation. Up until that point, football had been seen as the poor relation to cricket within the confines of the club, and a move to form a separate organisation seemed almost inevitable.

Having celebrated both the Centenary and 125th Anniversaries in 1985 and 2010 respectively, The Old Inn is still going strong and pays homage to Dunfermline Athletic to this day with a huge variety of memorabilia from the 1960s and 1980s on the walls of the public bar.

Programmes and photographs from the European nights are included, as well as glamour friendlies and testimonials. John Watson`s favourite picture, shown below, is also on display along with images of Winker`s team mates including Doug Rougvie and, of course, Norrie McCathie.

Pars fans continue to visit the pub before, and after, matches to this day and put the world to rights, whilst celebrating (or bemoaning...) that afternoon`s result.
