The Pars Go Global | 1885 Worldwide
Date: Thursday, 21st Nov 20131885 Worldwide is a new internet-based fans’ organisation, open to absolutely everyone, but designed specifically to help Dunfermline Athletic go global, establishing links all over the UK and the world by appealing to existing expatriate fans and any potentially new fans who might be interested in adopting the Pars as their second or Scottish club.
More generally, there will also be a very clear emphasis on promoting community-owned football clubs. The Pars fans forging ahead with this initiative hope to share positive experiences, learning and best practice with other fans and clubs regardless of where they currently stand on the path to becoming a community-owned club.
Community-owned clubs unite and takeover is the overarching message, as Niall Shaw from Pars United is happy to explain.
Niall said: “Now that we have successfully secured fan ownership for our football club, we are keen to help others do the same or similar. We want to see a re-connect between our club, Dunfermline Athletic, and our fans, wherever they now live, as well as connecting to the wider footballing community, both in the UK and across the world.”
