Ahoy Folks,
Here we are again. What a stir this post caused last time. Here`s a little update on us. Our original badge supplier let us down massively, causing our initial launch to be a bit premature. Since then, we`ve grown into a team of three Pars fans, dedicating our own time and expertise to this non-profit organisation. We aspire to nurture this into a creative community, and if you believe you can contribute to our team, please get in touch.
We`ve now launched the original design, and the response has been fantastic! We`ve sold over 70% of the 138 hand-numbered pieces available. We intend to keep everything limited, so once they`re gone, they`re gone.
We`ve been diligently working on our next launch and hope to share it with you soon. We`re genuinely excited about it, and we hope you`ll love it as much as we do.
As mentioned before, we`re currently a team of three, so everything so far has been funded out of our own pockets. To be transparent, we did turn a profit from the debut pin badge, but we`ve already funded the next launch ourselves, so technically, we`re in the red. If our next launch is successful, we`ll become self-funded moving forward. Our goal is to create limited products and designs(Not all St.Pauli influenced) that we, as Pars fans, love or find intriguing. We hope this will enable us to continue evolving our ideas and, in turn, establish a fund to support the Pars and our local community.
We`re new to this and excited to see what the future holds. We`ve encountered a couple of delivery issues, but we believe they`re resolved now. We`d like to express our gratitude to everyone for the support and custom we`ve received so far. Every order that comes through has us feeling glad all over!

Will 2nd the quality of the badge. Have it sitting above my history of the pars Print. Great to see fellow Pars fans taking the initiative to create funds to support Pars related projects. Itās all to easy to take an negative view of anything that seems different.
Iām sure there are many others out there who love the opportunity to buy /collect anything PARS related.
Looking forward to see what you come out with next.

Ahoy Folks,
Thank you for all the positive feedback and assistance. We were thrilled with how the badge turned out, and it`s wonderful to hear that you folks share the same sentiment. We have now fixed the link in the original post.
Thanks again

Evening Dotnet,
Introducing...
The "Sankt Sammy" Tee pays homage to Dunfermline Athletic`s beloved mascot, Sammy the Tammy, in the style of the Jolly Roger, famously associated with our new friends at St. Pauli. Profits from the sale of this Tee will support our initiative to bring a Sankt Sammy flag to East End Park.
The first of two pre-order campaigns is now live. Click the link in our bio to place your order.

There is more photo`s across our social channels, Hope you guys like it!

Can I just ask? You guys have been a bit coy about identifying who you actually are and I`d be particularly interested to know what sort of agreement you have come to with the Club regarding use of their badge and other images?

It is not unreasonable to ask this question especially since ahoy are trying to cash in on the clubs fan base.

It`s also not unreasonable for them to completely ignore you, as it`s none of your business.
If you have concerns, don`t buy. Simple.

Responses like this and the previous response only give cause for more concern.
If the social club founders had the football clubs best interests at heart they would do well to alleviate the fears that the clubs intellectual property was being used correctly and legally.
Being rude to people does nothing to help matters.

We`ve clearly no prospective Sherlock Holmes on this forum. I can probably take a very good guess of the name of at least one person behind it.
Does it matter who is behind it though? The club don`t sell anything like this and it`s not using club branding.

I don`t think it`s truly a social club, every one I`ve been involved in had a named committee.
From what I see the plan is for Pars fans to finance this groups aspirations/vision by buying their merchandise.

Good evening, .Net community,
We`re excited to announce that our debut pin badge has officially sold out. A massive thanks to those who managed to snag one of the limited 138 available.
Tonight, we`re equally thrilled to introduce our new limited pin badge, designed to complement the "Sankt Sammy" Tee that was launched last week. You can check them both out using the links below.

Keep an eye out over the next few weeks, as the Dunfermline Press should be publishing an article with more information about our team and background.
We sincerely appreciate all the interest and support.
Ahoy Ahoy!

Why are we trying to be a St Pauli, with the badge made to look like the St Pauli badge and the skull and cross bones another symbol of theirs, also the naming Das Pars and Sankt Sammy.
Should we not be promoting our own identity and history? We are a proud club with our own heritage without trying to attach ourselves to another club, is this coming from the BoD with their German links?

I see the site is selling a pin badge called "Das Pars".
Can I just indulge in some pedantry (it`s my second-favourite late night pastime) and point out that "Das Pars" does not make any grammatical sense at all in German.
"Der" (masculine), "Die" (feminine) and "Das" (neuter) are used in German for singular nouns, so one would say "Der Mann", "Die Dame", "Das Land". It`s a bit more complicated than that, but I`m keeping it simple!
If the noun is plural, then in German one would ALWAYS use "Die", irrespective of gender. So it would be "Die MƤnner", "Die Damen", "Die LƤnder".
In English we use "The Pars" as a plural ("The Pars ARE doing well", "The Pars HAVE signed a new player" etc) so the German equivalent would have to be be "Die Pars".
Unfortunately, in English that looks like someone wishes the Pars to expire ....

Why are the Ahoy group so intent in attempting to link us to St Pauli?
We have our own distinct identity and we should keep pushing to build our own individual identity.
Good luck to those running this initiative but you should be using your creativity to come up with purely Pars related content imo.
I genuinely don`t want us being seen as another cloned group of St Pauli fandans like Celtic supporters desperate to be associated with a foreign club. A club that is heavily politicised, something I don`t want for our club.

Surely Das Pars is correct as The Pars are a single, neutral entity?
It probably sounds a bit odd though.

The Pars encompass the whole club, playing staff etc so it is plural.

"Surely Das Pars is correct as The Pars are a single, neutral entity?"
Simply, no. By the use of ARE in your own sentence you recognise that "The Pars" refers to a plural entity.
"I would always refer to a corporate entity in the singular too."
True, and if the reference were to "The Club" or "The Team" or "The Company" then it would be correct to use a singular pronoun in German (Der Klub, Die Mannschaft, Das Unternehmen).
But that`s not the case here - "The Pars" is plural. Otherwise we would say "The Pars is top of the league" or "The Pars was unlucky"?
So "Die Pars" is correct - but unfortunate in English as a slogan!
