Top 6? Nah. Not with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester Utd, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Chelsea and arguably Tottenham around. You may get a decent season as the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, Forest, Brentford, Fulham and (whisper it) West Ham have shown but it`ll be very hard to make then top 6 challengers, let alone regulars.

David is quite a calm, modest, undemonstrative type of manager. Maybe he didn`t make it at Man Utd because he wasn`t the type to inflict grievous bodily harm on players ( David Beckham) who stepped out of line. I think Everton know that he won`t have them challenging for the title but he does have all the qualities to steady the ship and keep them in the Premiership. One of those very good, if not excellent Scottish managers, who weren`t top bracket players but knew how to get the best out of their players. He kicked a ball about, as a lad in the Thornwood area of Glasgow at the west edge of Partick and of course, played centre half for Celtic and Dunfermline. I do wish him well and will follow Everton`s fortunes with greater interest now.

No idea why he would want commit GBH on Beckham seeing he was at PSG at the time
Plus Beckham has stated in the past how grateful he was to Moyes for taking him on loan to Preston when he was manager there as it introduced to top level football for the first time

It might be a short term contract (for now) but I think he’s finally went home the long way round.
I don’t ever think he’s got what it takes to get a title winning side and was surprised that he even got the Man Utd job for that reason alone but he was the fall guy there after Fergie left him with an ageing squad whereas Moyes was always at his best working with young players.

Yes it`s hyperbole of the highest order to suggest that Fergie commited GBH against Beckham. Even if, and it`s a big if , he meant to kick the boot at him it still wouldn`t meet the threshold of GBH which is battery of the severest form according to law.

2 and a half year deal so certainly not short term for him.

I`m not sure you can apportion all the blame on Man U, BPP. I remember reading that he dismissed all Fergie`s backroom staff when he was appointed and brought in his own team. That allegedly created a lot of resentment amongst the players, so he probably lost a bit of respect before he`d even begun. Not what you need when you`re trying to replace the irreplaceable. 🙄

100% correct GG. Clearing out the coaching team was a huge mistake. Lost years of experience overnight and replaced them with Phil Neville and Chris Woods.
