The media are certainly expecting it -

Philippe Clement is close to being sacked by Rangers following Saturday`s 2-0 defeat at home to St Mirren. (Scottish Sun),

The details over the Belgian`s exit are being finalised. (Daily Record),

Rangers are expected to announce the departure of Clement, 50. (Peter A Smith on X),

A board meeting was held on Sunday to decide their manager`s future. (STV),

Rangers` players have been informed of Clement`s exit. (Chris Jack on X)

Sky Sports are also anticipating it.

In all seriousness, I hope they appoint someone who turns them around. I`m sick of Celtic winning everything. I`m sick of their fans, the politics that don`t concern them and the booing on remembrance Sunday and this self-proclaimed " best fans in the world " tag. I`m by no means a Rangers fan but my enemy`s enemy is my friend and all that and I want someone to knock Celtic off their perch, and it`s only going to be Rangers that do it. It once was the case that there was a massive financial gulf between the ugly sisters and the rest of the league. It`s now got to the point where there`s a massive gulf between Celtic and Rangers and, purely for the good of the scottish game, that has to change. Or maybe folk are happy with Celtic winning the treble most years?

Thats the sort of chat you`d expect off a taxi driver chewing year off about needing "proper rainjurs men who bleed red, white & blue ken whit it`s aww aboot son!"

On a serious note it`s also another smoke screen and deflection from the board
The league is done and dusted and even if results don`t go their way they will get a free ride, to a degree, that an outsider or foreign coach wouldn`t be afforded even in the current circumstances......and it'll probably help get season tickets shifted for next year too.

Unprompted, you decided to tell us all that how much that you disliked Celtic and their fans, hence you felt it was alright to cheer The Rangers on in their quest for their 2nd title.

If you`re going to do that, surely it is ok for someone to challenge it?

I think, for most of us, Rangers winning the league would be a continuation of the monopoly that we`ve seen since 1986 - as opposed to a bright new dawn.

Appointing wee Barry as the interim manager is a reasonably good move. Buys goodwill with the fans, opens up the potential pool of next permanent manager by extending the appointment to perhaps end of season, lets the new owners have a hand in picking the new manager potentially.

Whoever comes in won’t be able to improve much without signing players, they will end up being crucified by fans if results don’t pick up, Barry will get an easier time of it being a Ranejurs man. Let him see the season out and see where the land lies.

I feel we perhaps should have kept Lanza John until the end of the season and evaluated it from there.

Lanza John as you call him is as much to blame as Tidser. He was taking training last Tuesday when I walked the dog passed Rosyth. He’s also been in the dugout as 1st team coach in every game.

If he’s not getting his point across it says more about his strengths as he’s obviously a lapdog.

Why would he be our saviour as such, he’s never managed a senior team. 1 win in 3 games as an interim? The fascination has to end

This for me, too.

Agree with 1985 Par that it would be good to see someone other than Celtic winning the league year after year, but Rangers would be the last team I`d pick, even if, realistically, there`s next to no chance of any other team winning it in my lifetime. 😒

The only way a meaningful change could take place in Scottish football is for the other major clubs to take a stand and refuse to play unless Celtic and Rangers agreed to a major redistribution of TV and sponsorship monies. That isn`t going to happen as all the other clubs are running scared of these 2.

Why can`t they see that they`re letting the tail wag the dog? Remember when Doncaster and Co wanted to put Rangers 2012 straight into first the top flight, and then the Championship, when that failed? That was maybe more fan power than the non-OF chairmen growing a set..... 🙄

Celtic’s business model is based on their annual champions league haul of millions. It allows them to get stronger and richer year on year, keeping Rangers at arms length to the point that they can now confidently budget long term for repeated CL windfalls. This allows them to bring in quality European players with the promise of CL exposure and sell them on for vast profits. It all ensures that the cycle continues. It would be great if Hibs could break this cycle but any realist will acknowledge only Rangers can. If the title, and automatic CL qualification, was to to and fro for a bit it may disrupt this budgeting model for both ugly sisters and may inadvertently weaken them both. As it is , Celtic get stronger and stronger and stronger and I’m sick of it.

I didn`t get where I am today, having lived in Glasgow since I was 9 years old, by preferring one big Glasgow club to another. I wore my Dunfermline scarf with equal pride at Ibrox, Parhead and Firhill. It didn`t stop me liking both of the top two when they played in Europe. At that time, both fielded 11 players born and bred in Scotland and Glasgow was the football capital of Europe. Whether it was Tommy Gemmel scoring from 40 yards or Jim Baxter gliding with graceful skill over the Ibrox turf, what was not to like for a young football loving lad.

The orange walk, with their flute bands, marched past our tenement flat in Argyle Street, one of my pals at the rear, bashing his big drum black and blue. His dad was a Catholic. Make sense of that if you can. My parents taught me to respect people for who they were. I still like Rangers and Celtic in Europe, but not so much now because of the mercenary nature of footballers.

Surely we are all grown up enough to see through the juvenile antics of "my gang against their gang" for that`s all that it is. Our own young guys in Fife can turn their hand to that too.

It`s a football forum, and there is a Pars connection with our former assistant manager and former goalkeeper both being on the new management team

To be fair, it was only one of them in the orange pick up.

You can fit more Monster Munch in a pick-up.

Bomber Brown in as captain of the cheerleaders.

Still remember him gesturing to Pars fans at an Ibrox match in the Eighties, scum of the highest order!

He wasn’t so demonstrative towards Pars support in the 1988 cup defeat at EEP - he reserved that for referee Alan Ferguson and the stand side linesman who advised him of Brown’s “indiscretion” clattering Mark Smith off the ball.

Before they got their new training ground in Milngavie, Rangers used the Rugby pitch of Kelvinside Academy for their training pitch for a few months. The language was as blue as their shirts and the two worse culprits were Bomber Brown and Ian Ferguson (who went on to play for us). Brought the area down a notch or two.

Getting beat 2-1 in 35 mins by Killie

Now 2-3

We could do with a player like Cyriel Dessers

Was McInnes not once touted for the job?

Wouldn’t be a bad shout.

He was, when he was Aberdeen manager and Rangers sacked Caixinha.

The official story was that Aberdeen refused Rangers permission to talk to him and McInnes didn`t want to resign. McInnes has however hinted at other concerns about the move since...

I remember he got some really vile abuse on the Follow Follow forums for turning them down.

McInnes was asked about the Rangers job yesterday and said his only focus was on getting Killie into the top 6. Wouldn`t be surprised if he ended up going there at the end of the season.

I`ve had the odd look from time to time, Paralex. The vitriol after a poor result is on a different level to any other fans forum.

The follow follow site should be completely banned. They are all a bunch of far right bigots .
Their leader Mark Dingwall stirs the pot of anti catholic hatred on a daily basis.
No idea how he’s avoided the jail. His ‘tossed salad’ post regarding Brendan Rodgers return to Celtic was one the most sinister things I’ve ever seen. Even the dwellers of the swamp called him out on that .

Quote Jeffrey

"I`ve heard Ferguson referred to as Ned Lasso and I`m still laughing about it".😂

A friend of mine was his Art teacher at Brannock High, I think, and she thought he was a respectful lad. Maybe not too much academic, nor indeed artistic ambition, but not your typical Ned. But I do get your gist Jeffrey. Maybe big brother Ferguson led him astray.
