Pull back the curtain and you reveal The Wizard of Lockheed Martin.

The enemy travels by private jet, not by dinghy.

I was surprised to discover that Bani Sadr, one of the main figures behind the Iranian revolution of 1980 which deposed the US backed Shah regime, is still kicking around in Paris at the age of 86. Bani Sadr had an ambitious vision of fusing Marxism with Islam to create a new Iran but was outflanked by his former allies, the mullahs, and had to run for his life within a year.

At the time I’m sure the USA breathed a sigh of relief since leftist nationalists like Nasser, Castro, Saddam and Gaddafi were not exactly their cup of tea. Much better to have some reactionary religious conservatives running the country since they would be easier to handle. It’s not worked out that way and I notice that the USA, with the assistance of placemen like Struan Stevenson, is currently funding opposition movements who previously had links to the USA’s former bête noir, Bani Sadr.

Yeah, control of the oil is just a bonus.
Part of his re-election strategy, the sad thing is wars do boost the leaders popularity.
Our very own example of this was Thatcher letting Argentina invade the Falklands.
She was informed on 28th February that they were going to invade.
Plenty time to get extra troops there to stop it happening but trailing in the polls decided war would help her chances of winning the upcoming election.
The rest is history.

Chamberlain did the same. Unfortunately for him somebody else muscled in and stole the glory.

Only 2 of those things were actually Iran.
The others were carried out by their "proxies"

There is no evidence that they were instructed by Iran to carry them out.

And it's high time we stopped relying on oil.
Of course the USA is a net exporter of crude oil. It does not rely on oil from the middle east.

I think we have to treat oil production and consumption statistics with some scepticism. We might be comparing oranges and apples while measuring the amount of fruit picked.

From what I can gather it is acknowledged that the development of fracking has seen a considerable increase in oil production within the USA and Trump proudly claimed his country was now energy independent in late autumn 2019. This could be part of a growing trend, according to US oil experts, or merely a temporary blip in what is a notoriously volatile industry. The latest figures I can find indicate that while the USA is now the world’s leading oil exporter, and accounts for 18% of the total oil extracted, it still consumes an almighty whack- possibly 25% of what is actually produced.

US fracking now acts as a ceiling for oil prices. As soon as they get to a point where US fracking can become more profitable the US drilling wells just get turned back on therefore the price lowers and they just turn them back off again for a while. A gentle seesaw. That's why opecs attempt to put them out of business failed.

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

In total energy consumption, the US was between 86% and 91% self-sufficient in 2016.[1] In May 2011, the country became a net exporter of refined petroleum products.[2] As of 2014, the United States was the world's third-largest producer of crude oil, after Saudi Arabia and Russia,[3] and second-largest exporter of refined products, after Russia.[4] In November 2019, the United States became a net exporter of all oil products, including both refined petroleum products and crude oil.[

That's petty much what I understand. But the situation changes month to month and a few dollars on the barrel can make quite a difference.

The countries which have considered pricing oil in a currency other than dollars are the ones which have been attacked. This is the greatest crime that can be committed against the American Empire. So Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan have felt the full front of the USA dollar military. often under the guise of Christianity or its modern form, democracy.

Iran, like Russia, stands apart from this heresy. So its not just about oil; it's more about how you price and market that oil that is swims around. The USA may be a sadly deficient construct, but even in its dying days it retains a strong sense of how to price and how to market. That will be true even when China has become the world superpower; they will buy in American knowledge.
