 Championship Manager of the Month...
Topic Originator: wee eck

...for March is James McPake.

There`s a long, interesting piece on COWS in which he discusses the injury situation, the long run without a win, social media, his relationship with the board, etc.

Absolutely delighted for him and for Dave Mackay. I think they have the potential to become as good a management team as Jimmy Calderwood and Jimmy Nicoll. They`re unlikely to have anything like the budget the two Jimmys had as long as they remain at the Pars. Nevertheless, I hope they stick around long enough to see us back in the Premiership.

Not your average Sunday League player.

Never in doubt really. Its a measure of the squad and team how well they have coped through the injury period. All things considered everyone has done well. A couple of hiccups on the way but that`s life. You learn alot about yourself in times of adversity and I think the squad and management rose to the challenge. Well done all round really.

Interesting read. All managers tend to say they will not use injuries as an excuse although in reality they do have an impact, especially with the numbers we had out. I remember after the 2-1 defeat away to QP when JM said “ we needed help “
We sure did.

I found this comment amusing…. Maybe I shouldn’t have… but it’s true….> There’s still a lot of work to do. As you saw on Saturday in the second-half, even with a strong team, we can still be hopeless at times.”<

So glad we have James and Dave, and brilliant that the board stuck by them in the darker days. One little request for Saturday. My best mate will be sitting beside me in the Norrie. He`s a dyed in the wool Thistle fan. For my sake let`s keep the wins coming and although he is my best mate, let`s send him homeward to think again. Well done James, I do believe bright days are ahead for DAFC. COME ON YE PARS!!!

The play off finals are due to take place on 23rd and 26th May, but don`t know about the games before then.

I think last year the dates were made available the 3rd or 4th week in April.

Congratulations, but that`s an almost guaranteed defeat in our next match. Or maybe I`m just an overly superstitious OCD head case.

Generally when a team has been on a good run a defeat is just coming round the corner which is why this award is seen as a curse by some!

Today’s game will be interesting, win it and we’re still in with a shout of the playoffs but lose and it feels like we’ll be aiming to finish the best of the rest.

We’ve had a lot of games in this last month with a lot riding on them, in the 2nd half last week that busy schedule showed. No idea how we’ll get on today but at least the relegation pressure is off

Back to being drenched in my own negativity….
