His first senior goal. What a place to get it!

2-1 down now. Think I`d be happy if that was the final score.

I know it`s France we are playing but a bit disappointed getting beaten in the air twice. Almost entirely changed side though so maybe not sure who is marking who. Knocking it about well otherwise.

Two very poor goals to concede after such a strong start. I`m not a massive Cooper fan, thought he was in no man`s land for the second. I`d rather see Souttar playing. Never expected anything from tonight, France are probably the world`s best at the moment. Can`t believe they`ve started their full strength team against our second string!
Also, why the hell is VAR being used in a friendly??

Liam Cooper does a Steven Pressley. When will Scotland defenders learn that holding in the penalty box, away from home results in a penalty. Reminiscences of the Berti Vogst days. Might be a cricket score.

As much as it`s France all these goals were avoidable (our goal was too!). Defence fell asleep again. No one near Conan!

Of course it`s a "cuffin"
They`re a level above most teams on the planet.
Who cares tho?!

Da no 1
I suppose i care in the sense that thanks to playing England and France with Spain in between, we’ve now lost three out of four.
Now you could argue that the Cyprus win shows it’s not impacting our ‘competitive’ games, but I’ve always believed football is a momentum/confidence game, and getting scudded 4-1 (after going 1 up) isn’t exactly a confidence boost regardless who it’s against.
That said, if we’re beat Georgia mid November and get something from Norway then that should get the train back on the rails!

I wouldn’t worry too much about a full strength French side damaging the confidence of our 2nd string team…weve played 3 of the top 10 teams in the world in our last 3 and gave one of them a good scare, had VAR not intervened. We will be just fine.

Wee reality check there, maybe not a bad thing.
Thought Gilmour was excellent and really stood out; took ball in tight spaces, rarely wasted it or panicked in possession.
Still think we are a good striker away from having a really good team.

Jacob Brown seemed quite lively when he came on. Maybe he`s worth a run.

I don`t think we played that badly last night and some valuable lessons will be learned. Clarke will be livid at how we conceded the first two goals and arguably the fourth. It`s a lesson that we cannot give teams of that quality even half a chance and we need to be 100% alert to any danger.
We had a few decent chances as well. Their keeper made a few good saves. Obviously we are miles away from France`s level but if we are going to get better we need to play games like this and learn from them for when the competitive matches come. We will be playing 6 of them soon in the nations league! Hungary always look to give the pot 1 teams a fright and I would say we are quite a similar standard to them.
Lewis Ferguson impressed me last night and Jacob Brown looked lively when he came on.

DBP good points. When I said "who cares?" I suppose I`m still celebrating after qualifying with 2 games to spare but you`re right we`ve still got lots to do to match the better teams like France etc.
We did have some good wee spells of possession but gave away some poor goals. Clarke will know this though and hopefully doing what`s required to try and prevent this ongoing
