What`s the "unofficial" site for games? I just checked Raith TV, and they have a recurring payment system.

Any way I can request a refund? I purchased 20 mins before the game off the back of the "intention to stream" post (held off as long as I could). Had to then fork out another 20 for Raith TV.

I won`t be out the country going forward.

Watched on Raith TV. Loved the different camera angles and even the replays. One of best I`ve seen. Even commentary was quite neutral.

Raith TV was way superior to anything I`ve seen on Pars TV. Nice touch inviting former players in to co commentate too.

Why, have no interest in it. Strange attraction wanting to listen to me? Come to my work and I’ll work on your mortgage, something I posses to be good at.

Presume you don’t want to hear ex players?

I`m just being a phanny this time, but can admit it.
I`m not really into commentating during games at all, personally just want crowd noise.

I think Martin Hardie came in to do it a season or two back, which was decent. But I`m not sure we can seriously attract a pool of ex players to do it for us.

I guess it depends who they get. If it`s someone I really respect like Brewster or Nipper I`d be in. But if it`s a Jamie Mole or Andy Campbell I`m out.

Roy Barry did it once or twice I think?

Just ask whoever is in hospitality as the guest to do the co commentary. 😂

Unfortunately for Raith, there were only two men and a dog on Raith TV. They could have the best commercial department on the planet and still Langtonian`s would ignore it in favour of ice skating with sticks.

Why is there an assumption that because somebody used to be able to dribble a ball quite well for the Pars he will automatically make a good TV match commentator?
And that if he is any good that he will do it for nothing more than a couple of pies in hospitality?

Commentating requires a skill-set quite different to that of a footballer - a quick google search brought up a careers website that lists the following requirements:
To become a sports commentator, you would need:
- excellent communication skills.
- a clear voice and good pronunciation.
- good presentation skills.
- confidence when talking to large numbers of people.
- a genuine interest in sports.
- a knowledge of one or more sports.
- to remain impartial during commentary.

I’ve seen Alex Rae on the BBC. Not sure the BBC read those rules above 🤣

I agree that Raith TV do an excellent job but maybe for some reason they have a bigger budget? As for Pars TV - from time to time we have had ex Pars as co-commentators. Also did Raymie who is the usual co-commentator not play league football at one stage even if it wasn’t for the Pars?. I like having his co-commentary as unlike watching live you can’t see the whole pitch on a streamed game and he can more quickly see and pass on how teams are set up.

Raith TV is voluntary but they have always been decent even before COVID. Click here

The website confirms what they have done to improve things over the years.

I think Pars TV is also a decent service but it`s not as good an experience as Raith.

Quite like that they`ve listed what they`ve done to improve. As I`m in the UK, I`m an infrequent user of ParsTV but always found it a good service. Could ParsTV do more of a "you said, we did" by allowing people to submit ideas and then providing a bit of a follow up? This may already be in place so apologies if so.

On a wider level, I think there`s a lot of opportunity to promote the club more. Definitely moreso that Raith where there simply isn`t the interest locally and there`s also less money going around Kirkcaldy. Probably one for the next fan forum, but it`d be interesting to hear what the club`s doing to increase visibility of the club and get more people into the stadium or buying the merchandise. I`ve been impressed in the last year or so at there being more of a link with "Dunfermline" as a brand generally.

Raith looks a decent product and streets ahead of ours imo. Arbroath one during COVID was my favourite good commentary team who had knowledge and banter with each other and immediate interviews after the game.

Pars TV interviews always seem to answer the questions for the guy before he has the chance. Although I like the cows interview with the manager which is usually up around 6 after a 3pm ko game.

c'mon the pars

Pars TV does an excellent job on the whole. And I would endorse Rhinopar`s comment about Raymie. He knows the game and offers good insights as to how the team is set up and patterns that are emerging.

Jordan has been doing the commentary for a long time, and I feel he needs to make better use of white space. He tends to talk just for the sake of talking, which can impede one`s enjoyment of the game. Silence is golden at times.

Another thing I have noticed this season is a rather silly tendency to talk up the performance of the Pars when we are playing rubbish. This is hugely annoying, and I am sure there has been an intervention from the club here. Brian and Co don`t have to answer that, but it looks suspiciously like they are being "got at". If this is the case, then the club should back off. We don`t need "happy snappy" commentary when we are 3-0 down.

I`d be astounded if this accusation is correct.

I am not saying this is the case; I am just stating that this is my suspicion. I spent half of my working life in the media, so I think I can spot "tampering" when it occurs. But, of course, I might be completely wrong.
