When there was chat on another thread about how `isolated the strikers are from midfield`, `how poor the service is` and how `Wighton was having to drop in`, I found myself thinking of Joe Cardle and how great it was to have a proper attacking winger who chipped in with lots of goals.

Some of the fact we don`t push more players into the final third must come from the way the team has been setup though?

I always felt Joe should have been kept on and used as a player/coach. I`ve seen him do coaching up at Duloch and you can see has a real connection with people and can see where they can improve their game.

Is he still capable of pulling it off on the pitch?

His legs likely done with starting games, but would be useful impact last 30 minutes and would agree regards coaching position if there are openings. Been looking for a team since the summer.

He`s regularly posting up pics on fb of players he`s had in for sessions who are signed for teams other than the pars. Maybe some kind of official coaching/scouting tie in would be beneficial to both sides too.

Can we all just accept him as a top Pars player of recent times but that those times are over?

It would maybe be a wise idea to speak to him once the academy is fully up and running about joining that…

I loved Cardle when he was here and we definitely released him long before his sell by date. However, at his age, I think his days as a player for us are over as we are concentrating mainly on young, upcoming players. If there was a role for him in some other capacity, that would be great as he loves the club.

We`ve lacked creativity because arguably, 2 of our most creative players have been injured for most of the season. With these 2 now back, do we need a soon to be 37 year old winger? I very much doubt it, probably just offering a former player facilities.

His legs were never that great, he really didn`t have much pace but put a ball at his feet and he could fly like the wind.

Give him a short term deal and see what happens.

Can I just say before the abuse gets started, this thread is about Joe Cardle. If anyone is going to give Bletchley a hard time, do it on a new thread with an appropriate topic.

I’m sure Joe would be a great asset to the club in some capacity, well liked in the community and I’m sure he he could learn our shot shy strikers a thing or two

I guess Bletchley innocently means `long may Israel football team live`, so yeh, let`s not give Bletchley a hard time. I mean it`s not like a sectarian slogan is it?

Honestly enough of the Israel nonsense please. I’ll just tell Brian to scrap the thread…

It wouldn`t be a bad idea to post a warning when a thread gets hijacked.
Stick to topic or posts will be deleted.

That`s about 60% of the threads.......🤣🤣

Joe has great work ethic, loads of experience and an eye for goal - I would be happy with that signing

Always good to have an older game-changer around…

Martin Hardie?
Craig Brewster?
