Are clubs not allowed to replay controversial incidents in their highlights? I would like to have seen the push on McCann again and can`t be bothered fishing for it on the iplayer.
Good assist from Wighton for our goal. Touches like that seem to go unnoticed by a lot of our fans.
ETA - I must say I get frustrated sometimes by the post-match interviews. Why not ask the manager why he subbed Moffat or why Summers wasn`t in the squad?

There was a very late bad tackle on McCann in the box between penalty spot and 6 yard box which looked a definite penalty a- it was so late the ball had already moved on -ref just looked away - really really poor . At 6min 20sec on highlights-mididway through second half.

Very good considering Moffat ran from his own half to score.

Somebody had to play the ball into his path though! Is there a rule that you can only have an assist in the opponent`s half of the field?

Perfectly good tackle, Holt played the ball away cleanly.

Of course not. Just pointing out it`s not much of "an assist" if Moffat has run from his own half and finished it off. Pretty poor attempt to throw praise at Wighton who was murder once again.

It was quite a tricky header to control. The fact is, if Wighton hadn`t made it there wouldn`t have been a chance. You accuse me of `throwing praise` at Wighton whilst you just ignore something constructive he did. There are so many fans like you who just look for reasons to criticise players they have already made up their minds about without acknowledging any good things they do.

Eck, make Wighton a midfielder then.
Aye sure he has nice flicks about him, but ultimately he`s in the squad as a striker. Dunfermline can`t afford the luxury of playing him every week to just do nice flick ons mate. We need more from him, but I`m beginning to run out of patience with him now...I just don`t think he can do it in this team, whether it`s the way we play or whatever.
Please stop making excuses for him.

Couldn`t go on Friday night. Just watched highlights for the first time. Game looked pretty even to me as the commentators suggested. I was expecting 2 huge gk blunders for their goals so was quite surprised upon seeing what actually transpired. Moffat’s finish was so composed (again) and how good was it seeing Matty Todd back? Looked a penalty for the push on McCann.
United will win this league and Raith will probably finish 2nd and we`ve pushed them both all the way in recent weeks. Much to look forward to in the coming weeks

So acknowledging a nice piece of skill by a player which created an opening for a team-mate is `making excuses` for him? We`re back to the old logic that, if we`re not scoring goals, it must be the strikers` fault and anything else they contribute is irrelevant.

That`s funny. "Fans like me who just look for reasons to criticise players". Fact is you know nothing about me. Unfortunately, everyone on here knows plenty about you as you have an opinion on almost everything that gets posted.

I certainly know your opinion of Wighton, CrossPar. I`m quite happy for you to express it as long as I can express my opinions too. The forum would die otherwise. There are quite a few threads I don`t comment on though.

You don`t know my opinion of Wighton. However, I am happy to enlighten you. He is actually a clever footballer and produces some smart play at times. Also can be a cool finisher, though of late that has been less apparent. However, I see him hiding on the park at times, not making runs you would expect a striker to do. It is not always up to other departments of the team to lay on chances for him. Good strikers also need to make their own chances. I don`t see much of that from him. He also wins little in the air and you wouldn`t back him to win a 50-50 ball with anyone. So, in all, as a striker, he is quite limited in what he does, and I am certainly not alone in thinking he has to do better. If he was, he wouldn`t get hooked every week.

That opinion is pretty much what I thought it would be. My original comment was that he provided a nice assist (a headed pass by the way) for Moffat`s goal. Most fair-minded fans would agree with that I think. It was you who chose to expand this to an assessment of his ability as a striker for some reason. Players get hooked all the time, especially forward players, and it isn't always a reflection on performance. Look what happened to Moffat.

I expanded my assessment of Wighton because you claimed to know what I thought of him, despite me not telling you.
Moffat was hooked because he wasn`t having a good game. He was ready to get pulled when he scored. That doesn`t mean he had a good game.

If you read your responses to my original post it was quite easy to infer that your opinion of Wighton would not be complimentary. Why not just acknowledge it was a nice assist?

I was commenting on the highlights and our goal was the highlight for Pars` fans! Should I have assessed the performance of all our players based on 10 minutes of highlights?

Wighton was poor.
He isn’t a pressing forward though, because he is genuinely slower than a week in the jail. Unfortunately people put a lack of pace down as a lack of skill and stick to it. He does try his hardest, I think.
He is a good finisher, and maybe neat with the ball, but he needs a pacey/workhorse striker up front to work with him for him to be effective.

I think McCann offsets the running that Craig Wighton does not do. It may be down to his previous history of injuries.i must confess I am not sure what we are trying to achieve up front with signing of Jakubiak and O`Halloran. Whilst I thought the game was fairly even Utd had clearer chances and looked more likely to score. On that performance for me, they will have this league won by end of January. We look more like a team who will fight it out for a top 4 slot once we have a full squad tp pick from.

Goalkeeping errors not that bad? Mehmet’s pushed it straight to a striker 6 yards out and sharp has pushed a shot straight at him into his own net. Between the 2 of them they’ve given away 5/6 goals this season already
