They had a injured keeper playing and was clear to see he couldn`t kick or dive to to the right, criminal that we didn`t close down or.test him

Is absolutely laughable that we never hardly tested their keeper considering he was carrying an injury. When we did, we scored. That was not necessarily a good strike by any means, the keeper never covered himself in glory at all.

Sounds like we missed McCanns workrate even if just to force the keeper to put it out of play.
I know we have injuries but those more experienced players who are in the team are just not quite up to it and that’s not going to change.
A couple of experienced players in Jan could help if they are the right ones, assuming the net is cast further than Dundee to bring them in.

Players who continue to allow Edwards to take long throws, worked once in Div 1 ,the whole of our team never won a header all day.

The oh so slow build is bordering on the pathetic now we allow teams to prepare for our futile attacks, and our inability to neither defend or benefit from set pieces is shocking

Noticed this and seemed crazy. Wasting time bringing Edwards over to the other side of the pitch to get a long throw into the box. Works fine if you have a McCann, a Jack Hamilton or Brian Graham in there but we had Jakubiak, Moffat, Summers and Wighton at one point, none tall. Rovers defenders were loving easy balls to head away.

Was a poor decision to punt McDonald, Todorov and O Hara, they all could change a game and contribute more than what we have just now.

McDonald and O`Hara would not have improved us today. Todorov would`ve been a threat last 20 mins. That`s about it.

This, this 100% this. People used to fault McDonald but his strength and effort were 2nd to none. Could cross a ball and play multiple positions.

I was saying this at the time. It`s like we have nobody with game intelligence out there. When we are up against a keeper with an obvious injury, we don`t take pot shots or swing crosses in under the bar (don`t think this is the first time I`ve said that either, I`m sure there was a game last season we had a similar situation?). Or when a full back gets an early booking, we don`t run at him to try and force the red. Or when a player has a history of having a short fuse, we don`t wind them up. When defenders are slow on the turn we don`t take quick throw ins and try to get in behind. Either our players don`t watch a lot of football or have been overcoached into only playing within "the system". Not only is it ineffective, it`s dull to watch.

I can`t remember many opportunities to take "pot shots"? Someone complained on another thread that we pumped too many high crosses into their box?

I`m hoping they meant overhit crosses. From Edwards.
OHal actually puts in some great balls just our strikers don`t follow up.

Edwards crosses find more supporters in the Norrie than our players. Although when ohalloran came on and out in some good low crosses our strikers were caught napping behind the CBs.

We don`t test fit keepers enough so why would you expect us to be able to test an unfit one? The Raith defenders would be trying to protect him which makes it even harder than usual.

No wonder he’s deflated, it’ll be his job on the line if we get sucked into a relegation battle.
This 7 year plan is working wonders though. We don’t even look like having a team capable of finishing in the top 4.
When was the last time us or the Rovers won 4 derbies on the bounce?

Can somebody tell me what these German multi millionaires have brought….rubbish so far and nothing to suggest improvement.
No one has even suggested they are multi millionaires, successful businessmen yes. With one of them having extensive knowledge of how a club is run from top to bottom,
You should maybe lower your expectations of them, They are not here to splash cash on players.

"I can`t remember many opportunities to take "pot shots"?"
We had the ball at the edge of their box numerous times in the second half. We did have 2 such shots - Moffat dragged one well wide and Otoo had a low drive blocked - but most of the time we tried to play wee one-twos, or played it out to Otoo or Edwards on the left and as was pointed out above, either the cross was wildly overhit or the strikers weren`t on their toes foer the low driven cross.

No it doesn`t but often the opening was there. We could also shoot from further out, or play corners to the edge of the box rather than into the area. The point is that we barely troubled a goalkeeper who could barely stand, and that is a pretty sad state of affairs.

I sit in the Norrie and I can`t remember more than a couple of times where a shot from range was the obvious option. Rovers protected there keeper extremely well which they should.

When he`s on his game Joe Chalmers can turn in a really good performance, mainly as a mid field link man. He does however get a regular opportunity to put his laces through the ball from outside the penalty area. He doesn`t appear to have much power or direction in his shooting and for all the games he`s played for us I don`t think he has ever put the ball in the net. We need to pose a goal threat from more areas of the attack and get shots away from more angles.
After our loss yesterday and the fact that in 5 games against the Rovers this season, we have drawn 1 and lost 4, the old joke comes to mind, if they beat us again do they get to keep us?

Chalmers has definitely scored wearing a pars shirt, was at the wrong end though.
He’s very slow in pace and when on the ball, lacks awareness so needlessly slows the play down on occasions. Zero goals in him and doesn’t actually ever make a tackle. He’s quite tall but doesn`t win his fair share in the air and has zero physicality to his game.
He’ll do okay for us if the main aim is to finish 8th and there are others in the midfield to add the legs, threat going forward and the ability to win the ball back but then they would just be carrying him.
Hoping we get a centre half in so we can get Hamilton back in there.
