Yes I was just about to post the same thing. Don`t understand how both teams have been allowed to wear strips with white stripes.

Used to happen a lot when I started watching the Pars in the 60s. I think the home team would change only if the ref requested it as the away team only ever brought their usual kit.

Not your average Sunday League player.

The owners saw fit to redecorate some of the hospitality lounges occupied by Newcastle fans with Newcastle slogans

"Some days will stay a 1000 years, some pass like the flash of a spark"

It is great to see teams play in their traditional colours. There is too much of this wearing the change strip or 3rd strip just for commercial purposes.

Have we played in black and white away from home this season? That wishy-washy blue strip we sometimes wear is the absolute pits in my opinion.

Yesterday we had two teams playing in stripes. Today we have Arsenal playing in shirts which have white numbers on a white background!

The all white Asenal kit is part of their No more Red , campaign against knife crime and youth violence.

That`s commendable but they could have chosen a colour other than red for the numbers surely?

Would you have noticed it was an unusual shirt if it had black numbers for example?

The point is the strip attracts attention and part of is that the players don’t attract the main attention(see also no names on strips)

I have doubts over arsenals authenticity over this, after all the majority of big business charity efforts are done to build trust and recognition in their brand but it’s almost impossible to not support things like this wholeheartedly.

Like taking the knee this strip gesture may be well meant but to what effect?
As most of the death toll in London are young black on black territorial/gang related it looks like more pointless posturing

Glad you know better than the local youth workers who are involved in this project

I’m sure the youth workers are well aware that black kids have a proportionally much higher risk of being the victims of violence.
I don’t think the perps will be swayed by the wearing of footie strips

Replace "black kids" with unfortunate kids born into poverty with little hope or opportunities and looked down on by large sections of society and you may have appeared credible!
