Todd`s goal starts at about 6:30 in. Absolutely beautiful finish.

At the first disallowed goal the flag had gone up and the whistle blown before the move was complete so our defenders may have switched off by then. Who knows the outcome if play had been allowed to continue?

The second disallowed goal is a bit of a mystery as initially it seemed both officials were happy with it. It`s not clear what caused them to change their minds.

The assistants were actually spot on with their decisions to rule MFW and Todd onside at their goals and these were very tight calls.

Two assists for Edwards last night but when did we last score from one of his throw-ins? Isn`t there a case for just taking a short one and crossing the ball into the box?

Brian Graham was in an offside position when the ball deflected off our defender? As such according to this definition from Wikipedia he’s technically offside:

There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from a goal kick, a corner kick, or a throw-in. It is also not an offence if the ball was last deliberately played by an opponent (except for a deliberate save). In this context, according to the IFAB, "A ‘save’ is when a player stops, or attempts to stop, a ball which is going into or very close to the goal with any part of the body except the hands/arms (unless the goalkeeper within the penalty area)."[1]

Did the ball deflect from the defender or did he deliberately attempt to stop the ball? That would be the debate. I suggest a deflection👀

Malachi Fagan-Walcott comes across as a very articulate and likeable lad. I hope we can see him blossom with us.

I agree and something not picked up by the commentators on Friday. I seen at least two players basically stop what they would normally be doing when they seen the flag.

MFW ....... Played well on Friday.

Fitzpatrick is a tricky customer - fast and strong on the ball, a real handful for most fullbacks. MFW got skinned a few times but worked it out and started to outmuscle Fitzpatrick as the game went on.

He will do for me.

It doesn’t matter where he was when it deflected off the defender. It’s still about where he was when his teammate played the ball - so he was onside.

That’s not how I read this description of the offside law but who knows it seems to change every week.
