Was over there when BVB played them. Great stadium, great atmosphere but the Portuguese cops were utter cu nts and for that reason, hope they get pumped out.

I used to date a Portuguese girl. I remember we were in a diner outside of Lisbon in Almada and the the cops had about 5 litres of wine between 3 of them and just drove off after lunch. Seriously bad attitude as well.

 Totally agree!.

Good honest endeavour from the "thugs from the south side of Gasgow". Came away with a result that does no harm to the Scottish game. Ref. tried his best but couldn`t help being partisan.

I see from the Beeb that a 25 year old Rangers fan has died after the Benfica match

There was a bit of bother before the match and Rangers fans were attacked

"I can`t stand the Union Jack waving p*****"

I remember waving it once myself when the Queen came to Cowdenbeath. I suppose that makes me a p**** too?

Oh how I wish my teacher had told me that when I was a wee 5 year old lad waving my wee flag in Stenhouse Street. "Please Miss Red Star Par and Vasco (de Gama) think the monarchy are parasites."

I waved flags out the window of the Campdean school bus up the town then marching to the Glen on quite a few Gala Days.
Butchers Aprons some days and Rampant Lions on others I think, swung both ways to be on the safe side..!

Only in Scotland could a thread titled "Benfica" turn into name-calling about wee boys waving flags ... :(

There was I in my 5 year old mentality thinking that the nice old dear in the black Bentley was relatively benign, when we could have had a revolution and ended up with another Cromwell. Or maybe if we were very lucky, a Robespeirre, Stalin, Putin, Chairman Mao, Kim Jong Yun, or even a Hitler.

Tripe you may think bro Dave but history has a way of making fools of us all. Be careful what you wish for.

Oh dear, I take issue with the suggestion that waving the national flag of the United Kingdom, in the United Kingdom, renders the waver of it a p****. I would maintain that the assertion should be contested.
