 SPFL Reserve Cup
Topic Originator: wee eck

We`re playing Dundee United away today with a 2pm kick off. It`ll be interesting to see what team we put out. If long-time injured Fisher and Tod are possibly fit enough to be available for Friday`s match could they be given some game-time today?

Thomas Margetts the GK is 15 today!

He played 20 minutes in his Scotland debut against England during the February half term.

A true Pars boy....we`ll be very lucky to keep him

You also said you knew the score about 14.54 so why not post then?

Thanks for clarifying.

Incorrect. At 14:54 it would have been half time. If I had the ability to see into the future and know the final score I`d be cleaning it up at the bookies.

Anyway, I posted at 16:00 saying it was 3-2 to the Pars. I posted at 16:04 saying that COWS had it as 3-2 about 10 minutes before. That would make it 15:54 (simple to work out where you`ve blundered there).

Absolutely wild that you`re having a full-on mental collapse over someone seeing the report and taking a whopping 6 minutes to write it on here.

Thanks for accepting this correct clarification.

I saw the club’s tweet about the final score at 15:53. Apologies to anyone that may be upset that I haven’t posted on this thread until now.

I was just wondering if you would have shared your superior knowledge if you hadn`t spotted my blunder in assuming the report I`d read on COWS was the final one.

I don`t try to antagonise anybody on here. I actually try to keep fellow-fans informed and if something catches my attention which I think might have bypassed them I post it.

Surprised McCann started the game when he’s played a lot of first team football recently. He looked knackered against Airdrie so I’m surprised he was risked. Good to see the team get a win.

Hopefully Brad Holmes can kick on after getting two goals today. He sees himself as a goal scorer but is still to prove it in the first team. I wonder if him and Kane upfront would work, as he’s definitely not suited to play wide.

There`s a good post-match analysis of the game by coach Gary Montignani on COWS.

Good to see a few goals for the lads.

Is it just me or does it feel like there`s a lack of reserve games? The old reserve league used to be played weekly, it feels like the modern equivalent is played sparingly. Could do with more to give game time to the youngsters and match sharpness for those normally on the bench.

Ep.16 of East End Tales is out now with Steven Mill

Reserve league is where the boys learn adults football, my son played a few Reserve games for East Fife in the 90`s.

They took a 7-0 hammering when their opponents played their first team, it was a punishment for them loosing on the Saturday!🤬

Interesting comments from Gary.

I see they played 3 at the back, and first team players get priority in terms of position and playing time - so Moffat played CM and McLeod was actually CB.

Still no idea who or what the trialist was. Freddie Rowe gets some praise.

Disappointing not to see Andy Tod, Fenton, Hoggan or J Sutherland, but perhaps they had other priorities.

At least the win means they`ll get another game. I`m not sure why there is so little reserve football - is this part of the great masterplan?

Thought I saw him near dug out on Saturday.

Why was he not scouting?!?!?!?!?@?@?@? ;)

Isn`t it a mini league phase? Maybe wrong but I`m sure we had a few good results last season but still didn`t make the knock out rounds?

We`re through to the semi-finals apparently. I`m not sure if yesterday was a knock-out game or the last of the group games - or was that the Reserve League Cup?
