Celtic and Rangers avoid one another in the draw, yet again.......suprise, surprise.
I vaguely mind somebody posting the relevant historic stats from bygone days - it would be interesting to see the frequency of how often they`ve bodyswerved meeting until the final.
Cue SFA mafia conspiracy theories !!!

The draw was made live on the BBC Scotland channel by Jim Leighton under the supervision of Jane Lewis. Are you implying they were complicit in any foul play?

Heavens above - no - I was just interested in the possibility of any 2 of any 4 not being randomly matched.

Rangers and Celtic enter the cup in the 4th round - the round of 32.
Assuming they`d beat anyone they are drawn against (not a bad assumption), there`s a 51.6% chance of them playing against each other in the final.
Given they`ve never played in the final before this suggests, if anything, the draw is `rigged` such that are meeting in the early rounds more frequently than expected, rather than being kept apart.
There`s plenty of dodginess going on in Scottish Football, but this isn`t one of the dodgy things.

What`s the broadcast deal these days? Sky (or similar) pick of the semis and then the final on BBC?
There was a time they very rarely met before the final in the cups. Then satellite TV came along where they didn`t have exclusive rights to the final and, purely coincidentally, Rangers & Celtic started getting paired in the draws in earlier rounds quite regularly.
