This is where it gets tricky, do we really want Arabs to win this, we’d like the league still to be up for grabs by the time they play Airdrie, providing we’re still in the run in after our game with them on Saturday!
I’d personally be happier if it finished up a draw.

Yep. All we have to play for is 4th. We can`t worry about teams behind us anymore. Big deal if Morton finish 5th and us 6th.
We have to win our games and hope Airdrie lose points. Best bet for that is a United draw v Morton then Airdrie lose or draw with both Utd and Partick.
We need Utd to be up for the win v Airdrie.

No, a Dundee Utd win tonight is obviously the best result for us. I know you always go for positivity at all costs, whether or not it`s sensible, but Morton are only a point behind us. Whether that`s relevant in terms of promotion or relgation isn`t clear yet, but with them being so close it`s obviously in our interests for them to lose tonight.
Framing it as a straight fight between us and Airdrie for 4th place is just a bit strange. If we were in Morton`s position, you would be claiming we were still in with a chance of 4th
We`re still not entirely safe from relegation, either. 6 points behind 4th, 7 ahead of 9th with games to come agaisnt the teams 8th and 9th. We can still be pulled in either direction.

Agreed. I`ll sleep a lot easier if Inverness lose tomorrow.

But if Utd can chill out v Airdrie, and lose, then we are less likely to overtake Airdrie

Not worried about relegation anymore, think we’ve pulled ourselves enough away and with the games we’ve got coming up, we should be more than capable of getting the points needed. If we focus on looking up the table, we’re taking care of below at the same time.
I only specifically reference Airdrie because they’re the team that occupy fourth at the moment.
100% don’t want Morton to win tonight but I don’t think a draw is a bad result if it keeps the league up for grabs and they retain their drive to secure the title going into the Airdrie game.
All of this is irrelevant if we don’t win on Saturday, I’m just not ready to give up on 4th yet and resigned to just either avoiding the drop or securing 5th.

Interesting how our expectations change. We’ve every right to feel confident now the squad is so much stronger, let’s pump Airdrie, worry about our own games, and see what happens.
