Topic Originator: RMGpar

Very worrying comments

Admits squad is not big enough but doesn’t think anyone else will come
In. Also says we probably won’t be challenging.. a
Massive massive call out to the board

He is defo telling us as much as he can.
When will the board answer the questions instead of hiding away?

2/13 home wins this year, we’ve not scored in 6 of them. He’s won 6 out of 24 home games since we got promoted and he dished out long term deals to players who are clearly not up to this level of football. He has to take some responsibility for these performances.

Not done himself any favours but the owners need to explain why we can`t build a squad to compete with the fans base we have.

Really Dave? No left back, no reserve goalkeeper, no midfielder on the bench let alone a senior reserve goalkeeper?

That team should have been good enough at win at home.

Bene and Hamilton standard have dropped dramatically, not seeing the fight and leadership from Bene so far

Hope he has a look at his role in all this. It’s his team.

For me, if him and Dave walk without a pay off that’s a great result for us. Oh to have a decent manager in charge who can make players better and has more than 3 contacts in the game.

He still had plenty of players to pick from……he put a right full back at left wing back in the 2nd half…..he put a finisher at left mid in the first half and moved a player that looks a better winger as the target forward…….his superstar signing in Wotherspoon was dreadful today, is that also the boards fault? 🤔

Spot on^ I’ve defended Mcpake long enough. Comrie (through no lack of effort) has one of the worst left foots I’ve seen from a pro and he plays left wing??? Wighton as a winger was even more baffling.

It’s like he’s meaning to do it to show the board what he’s working with

We play like we’ve just met in the car park before the game

While his complaints may have validity, still doesn’t excuse the fact that we take to the park and play as individuals, play like we don’t know what others will be doing, play like we’re not drilled for various scenarios

Man is saying as much as he can without saying it explicitly.

He’s telling you the squad isn’t capable, his budget has been cut and he’s already appealed to the board for players but they aren’t going to release any funds.

Whilst I have my issues with his style of play I feel incredibly sorry for him.

I`m not saying he set up the team correctly today or that he has made good choices with some of his signings, but to claim that he had plenty of players to choose from or that the team was good enough to win at home are both well off the mark IMO.

Say mcpake is given extra budget tomorrow to bring a few players in, who’s he going to bring in? Another 35 year old to join a team with easily the lowest mobility in the league already or another crock he or dave used to play with or manage. With loans will it be a walcott or a holmes or Benjamin?

Anything you do now is a total gamble, what a mess. You could back mcpake and still face sacking him in a month, infact it’s more likely than not given his record on signings and loans on top of his poor negative formations.

I think his time is up. The football is absolutely horrendous. The club really can’t justify the price for what we are being served up. If McPake can’t get a team together to beat a Forfar or a Cove then he needs binned.
