Would defeat to Alloa and Airdrie be the final straw?
Topic Originator: grelin

Much has been said about about McPakes tenure, particularly the belief that we don`t have the finance available to give him his jotters. But there comes a time when we `cannot afford not to sack him` such as when a rot has set in, attendances drop, we become detached at the bottom, we don`t give a new manager the opportunity to dabble in the next transfer window etc.
So I wonder if we lose the next two games would this finally force the BOD`s hand?

the uk board members wanted him out weeks/months ago. The overseas directors do/did not. Probably remains the position until they leave. Pay up a contract/pay compensation for a replacement/saddle new owners with an "asset" on the books they may not want.

Should McPake go it will be bargain basement replacement Hughes/Grant type or even something like Wotherspoon as senior member of the playing staff stepping up as interim

It was after the Queens Park game at East End for me, should have been done months ago

I was giving him the Airdrie game the week after that - that was a 3 point must win for me and we scrapped a 1-1.

Playup Pompey`s post is illuminating.

Sounds like proper disharmony in the boardroom and disharmony at that level almost always filters down to the `workers` who became fearful for their own futures.

That almost inevitably leads to a vicious cycle. Disharmony --> poor performance --> more disharmony --> even worse performance...

Those cycles are really tough to break, and often need decisive intervention to do so.

The disharmony won`t resolve until Dafc Fussball GmBH have sold their stake, so I`m not expecting performances to improve until that changes - irrespective of who the manager is.

I’d have thought a defeat to the bottom team would see the manager out the door.

If we lose the next two then that would have to be it. Surely.

Just hope that we can get new owners in quickly and they can make decisions to take the club forward again.

In limbo now.

I think we will beat Alloa to paper over the cracks...

If he does go it will be a Wotherspoon & Chalmers till new owners come in, mark my words

You have any insight on new investors?

Only stuff I’ve ever heard was through Stephen Mill on the Big Scottish Football podcast and I’ve no spoke to my boy in the pub for a while…

Mcpake is going absolutely nowhere whilst the club is still up for sale! He should’ve been punted weeks ago and we will limp on till the club is sold

McPake has no positives other than the league 1 success but one thing is abundantly clear. His first half tactics have been absolutely guff even in that league winning season.
We only got away with it because of the weaker opposition.
Now we still play the same way but end up a goal or two down before the much needed changes.
Possibly the most negative manager I can remember in my lifetime.
