Different name, same smell. This ironically titled Unify League just won`t go away. Sooner or later, these powerful clubs are likely to get what they want.

I thought UEFA might have wrongfooted those still scheming behind the scenes for a European Super League by bringing in new formats for the three competitions this season. Apparently not.
Not your average Sunday League player.

Barely anything to do with sporting merit though, all about monetisation of sport as an asset. Maybe the audience is there and maybe it`ll eventually work - just personally, it isn`t for me. With age, I take less and less interest in the top of the club game - and enjoy grassroots football far more. Remember going away to Threave Rovers in the cup with the Pars back in the 80s and getting talking to an older Threave fan. He said you can enjoy a good contest at any level, it`s all about the game. With the infinite wisdom of a 14 year old I scoffed inwardly and thought you`re only saying that because you`re getting gubbed today. Obviously he was completely right and I didn`t know I was born !
Call it whatever they will, I think I`ll pass on this

Yes, I`m sure the prince will be firmly against anything that`s not based on merit.
I bet the idea of an invitation only league for the richest clubs, without so much as a vote to decide if they get in, which will effectively become a closed shop keeping any riff raff out, would be totally against the beliefs of a man with such moral fibre
