In what promises to be a significant shift in the landscape of Scottish football, the Scottish Football Association (SFA) is set to endorse the sale of Dunfermline Athletic FC to a consortium led by former professional poker player James Bord next week.
Bord, an astute entrepreneur, has negotiated a deal to take over the Championship side from the German investment group Fussball GmbH, which had placed the club on the market back in August.
The Hamburg-based owners first acquired a 30% stake in the East End Park outfit in 2020, subsequently increasing their involvement to 75% the following year. However, with Bord`s impending takeover, a new chapter awaits the club.
Reports suggest that Bord will be joined by fellow investors Wai Yin Kelly Kung and Justin Royce Harkema when they meet the SFA board to seek the necessary regulatory approval for the acquisition.
