Rubbish picks. I know the draw wasn`t kind, but Tamworth v Spurs is the only traditional "FA Cup on TV game" there. Arsenal v Man Utd is a proper TV game, but picking Liverpool, Newcastle United and Manchester City at home in particular is just woeful.

Agreed. Just doing it for viewers much like what happens up here with Celtic and Rangers.

Spurs might well go on and win it in extra time but the pressure on Postecoglou will be immense regardless. He`s already on thin ice with most of the Tottenham support but failing to beat Tamworth in ninety minutes will rightly infuriate them further.
No matter the result now I`d hate to be given the job of interviewing him afterwards. He`s a cantankerous, huffy type most of the time after a poor result so he`ll be even worse after that performance.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Imagine if they had the funds to do so.
They don`t.

Justice done, wee eck. Never a pen. Why on earth do they not use VAR in the early rounds of the FA Cup?

It might be something to do with not all grounds being equipped with the VAR technology. For example VAR is used at Emirates every week but not at Tamworth so instead of using VAR in some and not the other they don`t use it at all. Although I`m not certain on this I`m just making a guess.

I thought of that, too, Cammy, but how does that work if some of the smaller clubs get through to Round 5 and are drawn at home?

Id assume it will be the same but again I haven`t looked into it. Man u probably gets another red if VAR is in play.

Var needs put in the sea. Total shambles out with offside decisions which are based on facts

We`ve had this debate before, Saline. It`s not the technology itself that`s the problem, but the officials use of it and the way they (mis)interpret it.

Felt a bit sorry for Tamworth as had no idea replays had been done away with in the FA Cup and only had game on in the background with volume down so assumed that was done and dusted.
Must have done them out of a decent six figure hit at the very least and well deserved based on their performance.

It has been mentioned Tamworth lost out on 1 million pounds by not having a replay.
Interesting that Tamworth are around the bottom third of the conference , yet their turnover is meant to be 1.6 million a year .

I was surprised to hear the same watching it. The extra time really plays into the hands of the bigger teams. Spurs were able to bring on Kulusevski, Son and Djed Spence for extra time. All three looked excellent against a tiring Tamworth.
I was left thinking it might it be fairer on the smaller teamsto do away with ET and go straight to penalties, that would give them a 50/50 chance at the next round.

It`s not about being fair, it`s about makingsure the top teams get through without having to play any extra games, so they can be nice and fresh for the friendlies in Riyadh...
