From BBC Sport -
Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan will be the new Match of the Day presenters from next season, the BBC has announced.
It is the first time the role will be shared between three people.
They will split presenting duties for Match of the Day 2 on Sundays and MOTD: Champions League on Wednesdays, as well as Saturday`s flagship show.

Has anyone made sure Joey Barton is ok?

I quite like all three.
.
I wonder why they`ve gone with sharing the role? Sounds like there are three shows and three presenters, surely if each were assigned a specific show then another could simply step in if anyone was missing?

All 3 make sense as they are actual presenters and very qualified for the gig.

Maybe they think they can avoid paying a single presenter a premium rate. I`ve never understood why Gary Lineker commanded such a high salary. Did the viewing figures go down when he had a week off?

Let’s be fair about this. If they were going down the female route. They have at least picked 2 that have earned their stripes over the years. Not just picked someone to tick a box. Wise choices.

Makes sense so this is likely the answer. All three were probably employed by some arm of BBC sport already.
Who presents the `big gig` first will cause more speculation and therefore publicity now.

The BBC article said Kelly Cates would continue to work for Sky but don`t all these presenters and pundits work for various broadcasters? Gary Lineker did too.

Can’t stand the woman presenters on MOTD… Some on the drivel they say is just laughable…Stick to their own football in the woman’s game imo.

I think the only ones that cant work for both is BBC and ITV 🤔 or at least it used to be the case that if they worked for the BBC they couldn’t work elsewhere - but thats clearly changed. Majority of them work for BBC and TNT/Amazon now, especially the commentators.
Cates and Logan are both very good choices - both knowledgable and good presenters.
Sky, I feel, made a bit of a mistake when Jeff left Soccer Saturday too - Simon Thomas is a great presenter, but he struggles to keep up with the live updates and fact checking - should have gone to Jules who normally does the midweek slots who is brilliant at it IMO.

I like these presenters, informative enough too.
For me the highlights is enough with just minimal analysis.

As always, I like the Scottish connection, which both ladies have, and both their dad`s were excellent players. Sir Kenny will be very proud and rightly so. As others have pointed out, if they were going to choose women, these two are the best available. Good choice.

"I think the only ones that cant work for both is BBC and ITV"
Until leaving the Match of the Day rotation at the end of last season, Ian Wright worked for BBC on the highlights shows and for ITV on live FA Cup and England games.
Think Chapman is excellent, but he`s also superb on five live and I think he has said that`s his favourite job so think he may continue to to MotD2, Champions League highlights and the occasional MotD on Saturday. Quite surprised that Cates was given the job, not because she isn`t good but because she does live Sky games and that would usually trump highlight shows but if she is still able to to live Sky games and do MotD when the schedule permits then fair enough. Logan is fine although I see her as more of an all-rounder as she obviously does six nations rugby and the Olympics etc. Des Lynam was the same in fairness.
