Very fluid stuff albeit against limited opposition. Lined up as a 4-3-3 but both full backs inverting as the pundits would say, with Hamilton dropping deeper to make a 3-4-3 in possession. Lots of movement although the passing hasn`t been as crisp as Tidser would have wanted.
Two good goals - one great hit from Hamilton then a lovely shimmy by Otoo to feint the left footed shot and go with his right instead. Fairly comfortable so far with only some slack passing leading to a counter attack that the keeper dealt with and a free kick that went well wide the only danger at our end.

Very comfortable victory good to get a few goals in the side as well. Potentially a banana skin and delt with it with ease. well done Tidser and co. Now let`s get some points on the board in the league.

A routine win. A few more of those will be very welcome.
Stenny had a couple of spells, but really the Pars were in control for almost the whole game.
I still get frustrated with KRH`s final ball, but he had a lot more of the ball today and tried to get forward pretty much all of the time.
A similar approach to building from the back to McPake, but with fewer negative/neutral passes and an emphasis on finding dangerous balls forward whenever they could.
The biggest surprise for me was Chalmers at left back. I think that was his best and most positive attacking performance in a Pars top. I may have to reevaluate my option of him.
Tidser is obviously giving the players the chance to impress him. Wotherspoon on from the start and MOH coming on as a sub (and doing pretty well). It`ll be interesting to see when he settles on his strongest eleven, but I don`t think anyone let him down today.

Solid controlled performance. Bit disappointed to see McCann out on the wing again. Was enjoying seeing him pairing up with Kane. Very early days to judge the new gaffer as far as style etc but would`ve definitely taken that performance and result if offered it at 3pm.

Yeah gutted for Broxburn and my local team Musselburgh, who I thought were lining up a shock in the second-half.
Good result and solid performance from us today. Other than Tobi`s save it felt pretty comfortable. Credit to Fogarty who seemed to get on the end of every set piece they put in to our box. KRH was a threat and that ball for McCann`s goal was lovely.
Chalmers did alright at left-back. I was gutted for him that his shot was blocked near the end - would like to have seen him get a goal.
Otoo did a great job driving us forward second half. It`s good that Tidser see`s his value in midfield, as I think we really miss his dig and energy when he`s not there.

Good result in the end n through to the next round.
Chalmers in the inverted full back role worked well, however, it was against League 1 opposition, which he thrived upon two seasons ago. We’ll see how he gets on the rest of the season.

I thought Chalmers was poor again tbh.
Lost the ball umpteen times and giving away silly fouls, league one is obviously his level. He won’t be here next season.
On the whole though a very comfortable win in the end, just as o was expecting. Some nice passages of play and we defiantly look a threat once we move the ball quick.
Good days work, new owners, new manager, 3 goals, clean sheet and in the draw for the next round.

Not a game Tidser will learn a lot from against a relatively poor team who rarely tested us. Not a game for reevaluating anything as every team in this league is much better than stenny but we got it done.
Would be really good if we can have a new signing in the team for airdrie, preferably an attacking winger

A lot of our play was pleasing to the eye. Lots of good movement of the ball coupled with quick incisive pass + move. Long may this continue……….
Can’t say much about Stenny as they never had the ball long enough to form any opinion.
KRH - Back on form terrorising defences and firing in crosses.
Hammy - Had a great game linking up play & was involved in most of the plays.
Ewan O - Really solid didn’t miss a tackle all day - please do not play him at LFB he’s wasted in defence.
It’s easily the most pleasant afternoon spent at EEP this season.
More of the same please MT.

Fair analysis Berkey . We desperately need to add quality in attack. If we are being honest our squad is littered with League One players . Hopefully some new signings on the way. There’s definitely reasons to be positive in my opinion.

I can`t help think that may be exactly why Otoo wasn`t played at LB, cause he`s too valuable further forward.
I expected him at LB & he would definitely have been under the "safety-first" old regime.

That was about as comfortable as it will ever get. A decent win against a side who are going quite well andgood to get through it and allow the new manager a full week with his players.
Have to say, I thought it was risky changing to a system that was so variable after so little time with the team. It looked something like the recent 4-1-3-2 without the ball for much of it, but it varied a lot with Hosler getting up to make a front 3 quite often. Not entirely sure what we were aiming for with the full-backs. Comrie and Chalmers both deliberately came inside quite often in the first half and Comrie sometimes also has a starting position that was wide but much further up the park than normal. Also interesting to see our centre halves split and Hamilton drop in between them to form a back 3. Some variation to keep the other team uncertain isn`t a bad thing, but what we were attempting was a bit more sophisticated than of late and might need some time to get right. It certainly took me a while to work out what was going on there.
I`m a little bit concerned at the style of play, leaving the shape aside. For most of it we seemed to want to pass through the middle without getting very far. Maybe the aim was to open up the wide areas when it wasn`t expected, but once again we looked more dangerous the odd time we did the simple thing and put a ball in the box.
Second half was dull, but at 3-0 there was no real need to push harder. A loss today would have felt quite damaging so it feels like a pretty good win to me.

When we moved him to LB on Tuesday our midfield capitulated so wasn`t surprised to see that Ottoo was in midfield. I thought Chalmers played reasonably well considering he`s not a natural left back although he didn`t have much to do what he did, he did reasonably well. Next week might be a different story if Kieran doesn`t return.

Decent performance against fairly limited opposition- a good first game for Tidser. It was nice to see him keep Ewan Otoo in midfield, it would have been the easy decision to stick him in at left back. It`s been frustrating seeing Ewan sometimes play 3 positions in a match. I feel he has potential to be our best player and maybe win a move to a decent side, like Edwards has. Need to get him settled in that midfield role. I wouldn`t mind them getting in Nat Wedderburn to do some one on one coaching with him to show him how to just slow down, and stand up and hold off the challenges.
Pleased also for Joe Chalmers in the left back role. He`s a good footballer

That`s a bit harsh, Ahoy! x 2. Chalmers did lose us possession a number of times, but that`s because he often tries to play the incisive, forward pass, rather than a safe, square or backward pass. I also thought he did quite well at left back, a position he hasn`t filled for a very long time.
Quite a number of posters have dismissed Stenny as a poor team, but they are only 3 places below us in the league ladder. I thought they worked hard, covering a lot of ground in the first half as we turned the ball around the pitch. It was understandable that they tired after the break and that early 3rd goal knocked the stuffing out of them.
Not your average Sunday League player.

I was a wee bit disappointed to be honest. Of course, in any cup you are happy for your name to be in the hat for the next round (only they don’t use hats any more) but I perhaps was hoping for a couple more goals (especially after being three up inside 46 minutes) and maybe some more radical changes. But then MT (and his initials cause me some alarm…) has only had a day to make his mark, so perhaps it’s small steps for now.
Chalmers’ conversion to left back was one I didn’t see coming (or “inverted left back”, with Comrie similarly tucking in when in possession), but I guess Ngwenya’s absence caused a problem. Otoo would have been the normal alternative, but he suddenly seems to have become indispensable in midfield. One benefit of the inversion seemed to be that KRH had plenty of space to use. Whether that formation will work against better opposition remains to be seen.
The first two goals came from unlikely source (not than anyone is a particularly likely source), but I was pleased McCann got a tap-in. though he should really have scored shortly after when we had a break with 2? extra men. But I think we should have had more – there seemed to be a lot of unnecessary keep-ball at the back later on, but perhaps by then it was a training exercise. Seeing Wighton and O’Halloran only added to this impression. It is interesting that Tidser seems to be giving everyone a chance (but where was Mehmet?) which is fair enough. Given he is still in his honeymoon period (for another week at least) he could have got away with being a bit brutal and ditching a couple of players. He may still do so, of course.
At least he didn`t bring Calum Woods on.
Stenny were a bit disappointing, given they are one of the better teams in League One. I thought the same about Kelty earlier in the season – you’d fancy your chances of beating such side 3 times out of 4, but in the play-offs one accident can relegate you, so I’d quite like to avoid them. I forget what the number of points needed is likely to be – is it 41? I know mid-table form is basically one win, one draw and one loss from every 3 matches (i.e. 4 points from 3 games) so with 15 games left that would give us another 20 points which might not be enough – we probably need top-4 form from now on in, or for someone else to have a bad time.

Lower league opposition.
Cove Rangers
Forfar Athletic
That went well!
Happy with the win yesterday.
MT - Good start but it’s going to take a lot to keep us safe.
I liked the warm up with different drills/formations.
Also in the post match interview MT said “they are a good bunch and nice guys …… some of them are too nice”. Good spot - we need to toughen up a bit, this is going to be a scrap at times and we will need to battle it out in games. Next week at Airdrie for starters.

I wouldn`t say the second goal came from an unlikely source McCaig, isn`t Otoo one of our more regular scorers over the past few seasons? There was a spell where if he didn`t score we drew a blank! In answer to "where was Mehmet", he was there but on crutches. No idea why or when that happened though.
