I`m still wondering why our club
picked Tidser as Manager. What is
his record. What does he have that
is any better than previous Managers
What was wrong with Ian Murray
or Keeping John McGlaughlin

I want to say " give him time". Trouble is, he doesn`t have any. We`re in the relegation zone and he needs to turn things around quick.
Long term strategy goes out the window just now and he needs to get results with the players he`s got, using a style that maximises their skill set. If he insists on playing a style of football without the right players to do it we could be f%%%%%.
So i`m giving him time. Specifically until saturday at 5pm🤪

I haven’t thought that far ahead GG Riva.

Ah, OK. I thought because you gave a very specific deadline, you had a clear idea what you wanted to do/ happen next and I was very curious to know what that might be.

One thing that won`t happen even if we lose on Saturday is that the manager will be sacked. We`re not in Serie A. The Board will give him time to sort things out.

As fans, we can back the team and the manager, or we can decide not to attend games in protest, which would hurt the club we claim to support. A third course of action would be to attend the game and boo the manager and the team throughout.

I`m going for the first option......

He`s a young, up and coming manager who has performed very well with Kelty over the past two seasons, getting them punching well above their weight, whilst playing attacking football.

We are 9th in the Scottish championship, we don`t have our pick of the top managers around. I can`t speak on the Ian Murray situation, but he wasn`t a risk-free option either when you see how Raith declined towards the end of last season and their preparations for this one.

I like Tidser`s attitude, seems to be pretty straight with his answers to questions in the media. He`s going to make plenty of mistakes (as all managers at this level do), but let`s at least give him the chance to turn the ship around. If he can keep us up then there should be some wiggle room to change things for the better come the summer.

Sorry but it really doesn`t sound like it.

He`s had 2 full weeks working with these players and 1 league game, where admittedly it went badly wrong.

When I said “ till Saturday at 5pm” I did so light- heartedly, with a sense of irony, and with tongue firmly in cheek. I thought at the time it needed an emoji but, being the technophobe I am, couldn’t find it on the desk top from which I had typed it. Post now updated from phone, with emoji, to reflect tongue in cheekness of said post.
Scour this site all you can. I can’t recall calling for a managers head yet but if I did, I will have been amongst the last to do so and I’m not calling for Tidser to go after 2 weeks.

I didn’t want Tidser but we are where we are. We just need to hope for the best. He has until the end of the season to get us up to 8th place. If he doesn’t then he should go then.

If he persists in getting us to play out from the back (without a few more quality players coming in) then I suspect he won’t get us up to 8th. I’d like to think the gravity of our situation will become clear to him and he will set us up in a way we are more likely to pick up points in the short term, even if it goes against his long term vision and philosophy of how he likes football to be played.

Let’s see what happens and judge him on results at the end of the season, because there is no way the board will bullet him before then anyway.

He is our manager for the foreseeable future so why not get behind him and give him a chance. If we finish 8th then he`ll have been successful in my eyes (Raith are now 10 points above us). If we drop below Airdrie then my viewpoint will be different.

He`s not exactly been left with a great squad though.

What if we get to 9th and stay up? Or, what if we are poor in the first couple of months, he gets us playing well, but it`s too late to stay up?

He`s come in at a really bad time, both in terms of our position and given that it is mid season. It obviously can`t be as clear cut as 9th = the sack, staying up = stay, especially as the best time for him to join would have been in the pre-season (if he`s looking to implement a specific style) and he`s done well in League 1, playing that style with inferior players.

In all truth, I think we needed someone now to fight out the fire, and then someone thereafter to ensure that the systems are in place to ensure the fire doesn`t start again. That`s not what we`ve done, so we might as well get behind him.

Not that it had any impact on the result but had a good vibe from John McL in the warm up on Saturday the way he was going around each player, very bubbly and enthusiastic.

Reminded me of the way Calderwood and John McVeigh used to be in the spell he was with us.

Everyone deserves a chance to improve, Tidser had build something decent at Kelty this season and deserved a chance to step up

Yes he got it wrong on sat but didn’t calderwood get it wrong many times before it came good.

We don’t need a brilliant manager, we just need one who can set a team, sign players to fit the way we play and improve what we have and get the players giving it everything on a sat.

The last 3 managers were unable to do this.

Agree with most of this. Would we keep him for League 1? Then it would end up the same old story. Someone capable of league 1 but not up to the level of the Championship.

I really fear for us in league 1 according to the club we made a £1m loss last time we were down there this was with Falkirk in the league. If we go down we don`t have any "big gate receipts" so will probably make the same losses if not more.

Only a problem if the new owners won`t cover it. For all the criticism GMBH got, they ran us at a loss but didn`t saddle us with any debt.

The reality is simple. We have a new manger, limited transfer time, limited players of quality, fighting to get motivation from existing players! We can’t expect miracles. All we can expect is the guy to try his best, give him our support and hope that’s enough. If it’s not, then we go again next year. We’ve been here before, we know the score. We will survive!!!

The main concern for me is he seems (from his interviews) dead set on playing a certain style of football rather than just doing whatever it takes to get us out of the relegation places. Results have to come before all else.

Also I’m just so sick of us underperforming as a club, when you consider the size of our fan base compared to the teams who so often sit above us in the league structure. The last 20 years have been pretty miserable on the whole (apart from one good season under jimmy mac and the season in the prem the followed even though we weren’t well equipped for it). I really don’t want to go to league one again. I’d love to see us compete to win the championship again. I speak to a lot of other fans who feel exactly the same. It’s heartbreaking.

Let’s be honest, doesn’t matter what tactics we play - our recruitment has been terrible. Hopefully there are signs of better players coming in 🤷🏻‍♂️ time will tell.

If this new guy comes in we’ll have 3 strikers - 4 if you count McCann 😱

I don’t know what’s happening with the young guy from St Johnston but if we were also to add a left winger/left sided midfielder and an attack minded central midfielder… who knows
