Going on from another post thinking about loan signings . Some that work and some that donโt.
But who is your top 3 best loan signings for the pars ?
1) Stevie Crawford
2) Martin Hardie
3) Adam Hamill

I didn`t realise Stevie Crawford was originally a loan! There you go.
Can`t disagree with any of them, unfortunately there`s no one like them at the moment...
Worst loan signings? Quite a few, but Hamish McAlpine for the game against Meadowbank has to be it.
I seem to remember Davie Robb playing one game for us too, a fine player, but we were at a low level at that point.

In recent times I remember Gavin Reilly taking absolute pelters.

Thought we signed Hardie and it was Rusty Bits that was on loan. Brilliant transfer window either way. That was a great team to watch

Yeah Hamill for me too, cracking player who went on to do relatively well for himself even having a couple of seasons at a premier league team.
Rusty was a good signing although he was more interested in playing the guitar when we started struggling in the premier league.
Worst is quite hard, in recent times coley, Benjamin and kamwa didnโt look at all like footballers.

No, but he did flick it over his head, leave him for dead, knock the ball past Pressley who then cleaned him out ๐

I thought Jim O`Brien who came in at the same time was better than Hamill in all honesty. Not as flashy, but much more consistent and a better end product.

We lost 5 goals in the 12 games Rusty played when we won the Championship, which was vital given that we were nowhere near as free-flowing as we were at the start of the campaign.
He missed a couple of games through injury in Championship too and struggled to stay fit thereafter.
Fair game then to assassinate his character and professionalism for having a hobby.

Tbf kamwa hardly got a chance and it seems he is doing quite well for newport county now

Hammill was an absolute joy to watch, can`t argue with the 3 picks. Adam recently done a podcast/interview basically having a pop at Benitez. On the back of his loan to us, Celtic offered Liverpool 2 or 3 million, Benitez refused and just farmed him back out on loan.

I think McManus was on loan when he arrived at the tail end of the 06/07 season and had a massive impact too.

Only remember Colin Miller and Gerry Farrell back then BigT
Only Irish fullback i can think of was Murphy from Motherwell but that was Stephen Kenny era and he was a left back.

Aye. Then dyed his hair copper and stank the place out. That opening day defeat at Hamilton set the tone for a horrific season

Who remembers these loan legends!?
Lawrence Shankland
Craig Faulconbridge
Marinus Dijkhuizen
Tomas Danilevicius and David Grondin from Arsenal
Edinho (a Dick Campbell genius loan deal)
Dick also brought in Richard Huxford on loan until he signed a deal

Kozma, I simply can`t remember Shankland at all! Just shows you how long he was in the wilderness before he got his finger out
The others, some of the names ring a bell, purely out of ineptitude, a time when we got picked apart by agents.
Not a loan , but I seem to remember us signing some giant from Red Star for a fortune, and him being an absolute horse, before disappearing.
Some donkeys over the years.

Either Crawford or mcgregor for me. One pushed us over the line for promotion and went on to become a regular international for a terrible Scotland team and mcgregor almost single-handily kept us up in 2005. Went on to much bigger and better things than Crawford. Both deserve much credit. McGregor seems to be forgotten about a lot though.

I know he has played top flight pretty much since then but I always thought he would go further than that. One of the best young finishers I think we have had on loan.

I think Adam Hammill put the free kick into the Hearts box for Scott Wilson to head the last minute winner in a cup tie v Hearts?
He had been outstanding that day, at one point Hearts put three on him to hem him in at the touch line. A bit of nifty footwork and a wiggle of the hips left them for dead!
